D postaja - Prestreljenik (mimo okna in po ferati - krožna pot)

Access to the starting point:
a) From Kranjska Gora, take the Vršič Pass or the Rateč Pass into Itali and over the Predel Pass to Bovec, or a little further along the main road to the lower station of the cable car to Kanin.
b) From the Primorska side, first drive into the valley of the Soča River and then through Tolmin and Kobarid to Bovec.
In the summer season (July, August) it runs every full hour, starting at 7:00 am. The last journey from station D to the valley is at 17:00.

Path description:
From Bovec, take the cable car up to the final upper D station, from where you head up to the scree slope, which leads along a marked trail to Visoki Kanin. At the end of the scree slope, before the first wall, turn right under the walls (from here you can see the window). The scree, which is a bit more difficult at first, turns into a climb (not too difficult) protected by ropes up to the window itself. From the window, the ropes lead us along a wide horizontal ledge under the southern wall of the Prestreljenik. The path itself is very well protected and is therefore also called "family ferrata", but it is not to be underestimated, as the dizzy and not used to heights can have quite a lot of trouble, in places where the path drops vertically into the depths, but it is well surfaced with steps and staples to the bottom. It also crosses a bit of an airy wall at the back and goes around exposed rock, which makes it all the more interesting. At the end, the trail joins the marked path from the saddle and turns left to the top of Prestreljenik. The descent follows the same path to the aforementioned crossroads, where you continue left towards the saddle. Be careful not to stray back onto the ferrata, and a little lower down there is also a wall for an old abandoned path across the scree below the ferrata, which was and still is abandoned due to falling rocks. On reaching the saddle, follow the cableway and the ski slope back to the upper cableway station.
