Access to the starting point:
a) From the motorway Ljubljana - Jesenice take the exit Naklo (you can also take the exit for Tržič), then follow the signs for Kropa. At Podnart, after crossing the Sava River, continue left, then pass the turnoff for Ovsiše, and in a few kilometres you will reach a crossroads where you turn left in the direction of Češnjice pri Kropa. Cross Lipnica, then take the right-hand road at the crossroads in the direction of Na Kmetih (straight ahead Na Kajžah). Continue straight ahead through the hamlet and take the left-hand road after the houses, then park in a suitable place by the church of St. Thomas.
b) From the motorway Jesenice - Ljubljana, take the exit Lesce or Radovljica, then continue in the direction of Radovljica and later the villages Lancovo, Lipnica, Kamna Gorica and Kropa, which you do not enter. Continue towards Podnart, then a few kilometres before the village turn right towards Češnjice pri Kropa, then cross Lipnica, then at the crossroads take the road to the right in the direction of Na Kmetih (straight ahead Na Kajžah). Continue straight ahead through the village, and after the houses take the leftmost road, then park in a suitable place next to the church of St. Thomas.
c) From the road Dražgoše - Zgornja Besnica, in the hamlet of Log, take the side road in the direction of Njivica and Rovt, and continue towards Češnjica pri Kropa. From Češnjica, in the hamlet of Na Kajžah, continue slightly to the left, on the side road, which leads to the church of St. Thomas, where you park in a suitable place.
Path description:
From the church, continue along the macadam road towards the hamlet of Na Kmetih, and before the houses, take the road to the left, which climbs gently through a pasture. Above the pasture, the road enters the woods, where it quickly descends to a larger meadow, which you pass on your left. When the small plain ends, take the slightly right-hand cart track, which starts to climb cross-country and returns to the woods at a slightly higher level. A few minutes of climbing through the forest follows, and higher up you reach a ridge where you join the marked path from Kropa, with the unmarked path from Brezovica joining from the right.
Continue left towards Jamnik, and the path leads along a wooded ridge, and after a short climb, you reach the undistinguished summit of Berigle. Higher up, the path gradually moves from the ridge to the slope and splits.
To the left, the path to Jamnik branches off, and we go left a few steps further at a marked crossroads, from which we continue along the steep path towards Vodiška mountain pasture. There is a steep climb for a few minutes and then we cross an asphalt road.
On the other side of the road, continue along the marked cart track, soon turning right onto a footpath, which after a few minutes returns to cart track. There is some climbing on cart track, where there are some serpentines, and then cart track narrows into a mountain path. During the further ascent, we have some views towards Jamnik, but after a small sign the path widens into cart track, which leads us to a crossroads where the path from Jamnik joins us from the left.
Follow the signs for Vodice, and you will quickly reach a crossroads where the path to the Meta technique branches off to the left, and we continue to the right towards Vodice.
We continue along a sloping path that leads us through the plateau-like world of the forested Jelovice.
After a while, the signs for Vodice direct us from the old dirt track to the right onto a well-traced footpath that gradually climbs to the ridge of Zidane skala. Walk along the ridge for a while and then arrive at the Zidana skala lookout point, which offers a beautiful view of Karawanks and the Kamniško Savinjske Alps.
From the viewpoint, the path returns to the forest, which continues to climb along the edge of very steep and, especially in the wet, dangerous slopes. The path continues to climb for a few minutes, then turns slightly to the right and begins to descend relatively steeply. During the descent, we are still walking along the edge of the steep slopes, which are dangerous for slipping, as the memorial of the unfortunate hiker reminds us. The path then gradually flattens out and leads to the NOB memorial, where it joins a wider dirt track.
Here, turn right and continue along cart track, which after a few minutes begins to descend steeply towards Vodiška mountain pasture. After a short descent, the path is laid and leads to the above-mentioned mountain pasture, in the middle of which stands the Partisan Home.
