Veľká Chochuľa lies in the western part of the Low Tatras at an elevation of 1753 m. Despite relatively long ascents, it is popular with hikers and frequently visited, mainly thanks to the dramatic panoramic view from the summit, which is unique even among views from other Low Tatra giants. From the summit of Veľká Chochuľa, one can admire the High Tatras, Western Tatras, Choč Mountains, Liptov Basin, Lučanská and Krivánska Little Fatra, and Great Fatra.
