Description:
A mega cool round! Start in Bad Hofgastein - into Angertal to Gadauner Hochalmen - cozy stop at Feldinghütte where you are spoiled with regional delicacies. DH further over Gadauner Hochalmen and onto a flowy alm trail - officially a riding ban for liability reasons (applies to whole Gasteinertal) but biking is tolerated. Past Thalerhütte and on the other side of Graben to the Angertal/Schloßalm junction. From here good 5 km/520 Hm uphill on steep gravel road to Schloßalmen - highest point above Hofgasteiner Haus with dreamlike panorama over Gasteinertal and Ankogel group. One could also go to Kl. Scharte (another 80 Hm and back) to Schloßalm mountain station. We content ourselves with our highest point 1970 m. The downhill leads good 3 km on grippy gravel road through ski area and we choose the hiking trail - a dreamlike flowtrail down to middle station. At Aeroplanstadl continue on grippy toboggan run and cross right onto asphalt at end - soon back on field path along Vogellehrpfad back to Bad Hofgastein.
