Ski tour on 10.12.2017

Right at the beginning of the access road to Schafbachalm is the first signpost for the tour teaching path. Follow the marked route uphill left of the Schafbach over Grögernalm. First parallel to the stream bed down the valley, then slightly left ascending over a meadow slope (old cart track, second info panel) to the forest road running a bit higher up. On it past the hidden Grögernalm towards Schafbachalm. Only after the Schafbachalm parking lot, normally not reachable by car in winter, branch right, cross the Schafbach and reach another information panel. Here you can either shortcut right over a steep wooded slope or take a wider loop above Schafbachalm following the summer path and comfortably ascend below the south side of Schafberg, where the shortcut joins shortly before. After the fourth and fifth info panels, traverse diagonally up the avalanche-prone slope into the saddle between Loibersbacher Höhe and Faistenauer Schafberg. Past the alpine huts left onto the north ridge (precisely: NNE) of Loibersbacher Höhe and without difficulties to the panoramic summit. A few meters below, the sixth and last info panel has been set up.
