Description:
On Monte Ortigara there is a monumental area of exceptional historical interest related to the Great War.
This hike offers the opportunity to explore the places where one of the bloodiest battles of World War I took place: the Battle of Ortigara. It all happened in June 1917, between the 10th and 29th, when the Italian army tried to break through the Austrian lines right at this point. The fighting was extremely fierce, with heavy human losses on both the Italian and Austrian sides.
