Description:
Start in Volano in Etschtal near Rovereto. 1,400 m Mt Finonchio towers up. On old now paved military road from 1916 steadily climbing max 11% 11.5 km. Then almost 4 km more on gravel road finally alpine path through magnificent meadow slopes of Mt Finonchio. Summit itself somewhat marred by transmitters, but idyllic hut with 1,400 m deep view into Etschtal to start and cozy stop for excellent barley soup compensates everything. Downhill first over lush Prati di Finonchio meadow slopes then continues in 10 km flowtrail orgy per Ralf Glaser's 'Trentino Trails'. But we don't go to Rovereto but back to Volano surfing through fantastic vineyards. Flowtrails simply wordless S2 virtually obstacle-free!
