Description: Whoever stands on the summit of Daubenhorn (2941 m), the famous spa town Leukerbad appears almost like a Lego village – after all, there are over 1500 Hm in between. I wanted to experience that again. The summit can be reached on a normal alpine path (T2/T3). Spectacular, of course, is the traverse of the almost vertical wall on Switzerland's longest via ferrata (K5/K6). This ascent is reserved exclusively for experienced via ferrata climbers. – Today's hike started on the normal path from Gemmi mountain station and returned the same way. But the summit area was mostly shrouded in clouds. As it turned out, there was no point in reaching the summit. Too bad: it would have been another 150 Hm. – Mapping material: Google Earth and Route Converter (Christian Pesch).
