Description:
Wimmerscharte is a saddle at an altitude of 2536 meters in the Zillertal Alps. The saddle is located in country Austria 9 km south-southeast from the center of Gmünd and 9 km south from the center of Gerlos. The nearest mountain hut is Plauener Hütte, located 4km southeast. A little further is bivouac Neugersdorfer Hütte. 0.6 km south of the saddle there is lake Karsee. 3 km east from the saddle there is glacier Zillerkees, 3 km east-northeast from the saddle there is also glacier Schönachkees. The saddle is located above the valley Zillergrund.
