Tomorrow we plan to go to Peca with my partner. Since we're not from around there, I'm asking where we should start. Where would be the most suitable and safest? Thanks for the answer.

On Saturday with a friend we did a quite long tour around there. In the morning hours the snow was still frozen, then it was sinking 20-30 cm deep. We were at Rinka, towards the top of Skuta it was too icy (mandatory use of two ice axes, which unfortunately we didn't have) and it remained unconquered. We ended the day with a jump to Turska gora. Tiring. But wonderful views, pristine nature and tranquility return everything double. (Winter gear and cheerfully on the way. Good luck.)

Velesa thrilled us with her photos. So I went on similar path today too. Sun, blue sky, peace and inner satisfaction accompanied me to Rjavo Lake. Then decided to try conquer Kanjavec too. Continued from 2200m on trodden snow to Hribarci then to summit, not sure it was my target. (Please explain if you know area better where I was.) The weather changed in the afternoon. Strong winds, darkening clouds. Tour long, strenuous (10.5 hrs), but worth it. As always.nasmeh

No, no one. Just us. Poorly tracked. Part of descent we took different path, less avalanche-prone - along ridge - over rocks. But icy and extremely crumbly there. Every other rock I grabbed stayed in my hand. Definitely dangerous and strenuous, no matter where you go. Slowly, carefully and SENSIBLY.

Today in company with lots of effort and trudging, stood on top. To Kališče all ok, then snowshoes - as long as possible. Then trudging, trudging and finding safe passages.(There were real dangers.) We were first and only on top after snowfall. All efforts already rewarded during ascent (magnificent winter idyll, sunny), on top windy and foggy, but no less exciting. On descent some snowflakes. Lots of snow. Windblown in places, some windslabs elsewhere. Towards top up to 50-70 cm in spots. Tour really physically demanding (both in good shape), took exactly 5 hrs just ascent from Mač.
Yes, nice full-day first winter tour that satisfied me for ... a few days.nasmeh

Real summer in the mountains is definitely saying goodbye. And I too found some hours to lay hands once more on those warm and for me so heavenly soothing rocks. I needed a path that is a challenge for me, yet ties several pleasant memories to it.

To the path. At 14:20 started from in front of Erjavčeva hut on Vršič. Weather fantastic, too little time for pleasures. Steady quick steps entering the wall which is really close on Kopiščarjeva path. Climbing harness, self-belay kit, helmet and gloves - all gear no exception. Then steep climbs, dangerous crossings, dizzying abysses and beautiful vistas. To the window in shade, other side pleasant sun rays accompanying me to the top. Solid climb allowed me to sit a good 25 mins on top, sweeten up, enjoy majestic views and chat - with coffees of course, as nothing else up there at this hour. All peaks on the palm. Follows fairly quick descent via Grebenska. En route watch sunset and can't get enough of beauties mountains offer me. At 19:00 order coffee at hut on Vršič, sit on terrace and once more gaze at Mala Mojstrovka, Bavški Grintavec and other peaks. Sky moon and first stars. Me still among mountains. Peaceful and calm.

Kopiščarjeva path well secured, only marks to window poorly visible in some parts. Thanks all who make it possible. Path despite all beauties it offers for experienced hikers.

Due to chronic lack of time (but I had to go somewhere) I ended up in Tamar and onwards towards Middle Ponca this time. The path ascends steeply all the way and for two hours it practically doesn't let up. In some sections the path is already relatively difficult or dangerously passable (risk of slipping). Weather: at start the sun already lit the peaks, continuation in fog and low clouds, above 2000 - heavenly views. Worth coming.

Yesterday I set off still in the dark night and by moonlight to Bavski Grintavec. I was drawn by the demanding path (which is a challenge for me) and the longing to spend the day as much as possible alone among the mountains, far from noise and "office hustle and bustle". And it came true even better for me. The path to B. G. is really demanding enough - even for a mountaineer with some experience (up via Kanski preval, down the direct). Besides the interesting climbing part, the crumbly terrain is much more dangerous, requiring a lot of caution and attention at every step.
Morning and forenoon passed for me in invaluable mountain pleasures, views, serenity and peace. Above 1000 m I didn't notice a single herdsman in the near and far surroundings. Good for me, pity for the mountains and surrounding hills that apparently languish more in these parts.
Advice: I recommend the path to experienced people and maybe for safety - better in company.

Hello, Uroš. Does female company count too? Say, I have enough fitness, I've been to Triglav twice already and last Saturday I waited for the sunrise on Mali Mojstrovki (well almost at the top - I lost some time looking for the entrance to Hanzova). But it was unique anyway and I'd like to repeat it.

But today afternoon I still went to Jezerska Kočna, alone. Weather towards the top really windy, practically no views. On the way back I quite searched for markers. Below 2000 m it was better and more enjoyable. On the path met group of Croats - quite slow. Hope they made it to Češka koča by night where they were to sleep. Otherwise path already fairly passable. Crossed three or four small snowfields, needing more care.
Good luck all!

On Wednesday I plan to go via Kremžarjeva to Jezerska Kočna. Has anyone been up there in the last few days? What are the conditions? Is there still any snow? Any info welcome. Thanks.

Quick decision. This afternoon through Žrelo to Storžič. Weather slightly threatening, so quick pace to the top. Fixed ropes in good condition. Views very varied. At the top at three, clouds gathering and first raindrops. No time for a snack, just over Škarja ridge to the valley. Round trip in three hours. Satisfied at home despite not great weather.
