Thanks - Greece! Kalampaka, starting point for Meteora. Day after Olympus - Meteora! All Gods were on our side all 11 days!! Left Olympos, right the coast of the Aegean Sea. Olympos from the fortress above Platamonas. Same success story - Marjan. In the evening, celebration of the conquered peak - Roman. View of Litochorou and the sea. Were back at the car - parking lot full. We refresh at the water spring, then off to the sea as soon as possible. Everyone enjoys a rest. Those pines are really beautiful - stone pines. A day for the gods, we two on a well-deserved Mythos. Its already visible! View from Skala towards the stone bench, the vastness of the terrain is visible. The trail of the path is clearly visible. Half an hour walk from the parking lot, something is already visible. Clouds are breaking up, tomorrow promises a nice day. A bit closer. Well-deserved beer and a view towards tomorrows goal. Part of the coast below the camp, the warm Aegean Sea beckons. Bungalows for 2 - 3 people, spartan but clean. Nicely arranged - 100 m to the shore. Even for the car there is thick shade available - camp reception, small bungalows behind. Olympus - (a mountain by our standards) hides from us in the clouds and not just behind the fence - taken from Leptokarya. Entrance to Olympos Beach camp in Plaka Litochorou, ideal starting point for ascent to Mytikas. We are already at the Greek border, as Europeans we drive past the queue into the country. After 10.5 hours of driving in central Macedonia - dawn is breaking outside. Somewhere in central Serbia at Lukoil - treating ourselves to necessary coffee.
