Please, can someone help me choose summer hiking boots. I'm a woman with shoe size 41, which means I need larger hiking footwear, so I have to choose from men's models, which are mostly too wide for me. Can you advise which manufacturers have narrower models, or even women's models with larger sizes (43)? Thanks in advance for the answers, Andreja

I was on Blegoš on April 11. Snow is on the north side, on the south only in the forest. At the top there were small snow patches, or rather slush There's still some on the path from top to hut, but passable everywhere.

Alpina Tibet excellent for summer tours (also winter). They have flexible sole so super for hikes, suitable also for rocks. Like this model fully leather so no excessive foot sweat issues like in Gore-Tex material boots. Bit pricier than other Alpina models but think 30% discount all models today and from 25 April 30% all hiking footwear.

Smart to have postponed Triglav to next year! A few more suggestions for "preparatory" tours: Stol, Golica, Debela peč from Blejska Hut, Slemenova Špica, Stenar, Raduha from Loka, Strelovec... (peaks suitable for a day tour, technically easy, nice views and very important: much less visited than Triglav). Anyway, before any hike take an alpine guidebook (and map) where the path's difficulty and walking time are described. Regarding Krn, I think you can go up alone, as the path is easy.

Hello! I went via Tominšek on Sunday to Vrbanove špice. Snow only in one place; in the narrow and steep gully somewhere in the middle of the path. Snow is firm, footprints are made too. I didn't put on crampons although I had them, but ice axe is very handy! So no snow over the climbing part via Tominšek! Also via Prag the path is dry, except one part where crossing snow is a bit easier than via Tominšek. Best regards

Snow starts from Klemenča jama pretty soon when out of forest, then to Rjavški vrh little dry, then snow again to Škarje. To summit don't know how. So winter gear really not superfluous!

Thanks everyone for the answers. I'll look for something from Scarpa, because the La Sportiva Trang S Evo isn't good for me either It's a real problem though, because our stores aren't exactly stocked with all models (I've already walked through all from Maribor, Celje, LJ-BTC and Zagreb). Haven't looked at hiking boots in Hervis though.

I have Alpine boots now and I'm not satisfied with them. Is there a bigger store at Vič, because in BTC Iglu had only a couple of boots.
