I wanted to hike the path that Janez and Milan did three years ago. From Šklendrovca to Kum. Start was right, I reached Krvava peč, then missed somewhere. Instead of Kozlova gora I ended up in Završje and from there marked to Kum. Return along Škratova valley, by Čičko across Sava to Zidani Most. I'll repeat this path for sure, Janez's ridge pics are too tempting.

After morning obligations to Kum. From Sopote valley to Vetrni vrh, past a beautiful farmstead to the hut for excellent tea . Back down the other side past two of the most visited farmsteads with views of Jagnjenica, Svibno and Borovak to the valley where the loop closes.

Tuesday's "guys" gave me the idea for today's tour with their description and great pics. With a friend we started at Rogar, then to Lipše gates (Felsentore) to Obel kamen via hunter's path, along ridge to Govca and back past Potočka blowhole. Weather wonderfully sunny and warm, little snow on Austrian side, heavenly views (even KUM clear as day) hikers almost none - pity. Great day.

Due to obligations and thus too little time to drive elsewhere, I head out quite late to my favorite summit KUM. Start from "the bottom" in Zagrad and do the tour as per previous description. I discover another crazy beautiful hunting trail that saves me some asphalt but is more vertical. At twelve the hut on Kum is full, staff rushing with lunch service, I treat myself to their apple strudel and tea. View today wonderful, Julijci and Kamniške visible and everything around. Not much snow, but all trampled. In one hour at the car, behind me 900m elevation and a great part of the day.

Not sure where to go today? My suggestion is KUM. Today is Kum Sunday, weather is wonderful, hut keeper Roman with his diligent team will make sure you're not hungry or thirsty, bring good mood with you. I myself set off in the morning at dawn from the Sopot valley to Zagrad along the wine road to Vetrni vrh, then towards Sitni kal and across the meadow to the summit. As usual, their dog Murči greets me at the last farm and at the top the keeper with wonderful tea. I returned in the direction of Podkum, then left past the beautifully maintained Dolškova farm back to Vetrni vrh and through the wild gorge "Hribarjev graben" back to the starting point. The lower part is quite adrenaline-pumping due to uncut meadows and also wet. Go and enjoy the beautiful day on KUM from any direction.

This afternoon I went on this climbing path. Equipped as needed and I must say, the belay is quite necessary. It is made for connoisseurs - short and sweet.

Today we walked the Col - Sinji vrh path. Wonderful hike full of flowers, nice views and wind too. It would have been a perfect day if a local near the branch to Sinji vrh hadn't "enlivened" it (later we learn his name is Poldi), who prepared a colorful verbal and stick-backed welcome with lots of curses not suitable for posting. So we turned around and improvised the path to Sinji vrh. It seems marked hiking paths are sometimes not too safe, so we advise caution on this section. Best, Sonja

Today again to Kum. Ascent on the same path as last time. Nice sunny day, best tea, the hut keeper very busy since winter up here isn't over yet. Descent towards Podkum, good track, about a third of the way turn left past the very nice Dolškova farm, over snowy meadows into the forest and down back to Vetrni vrh to the car and home. Nice loop trail.

Today to Kum on my usual route. From Radeče to Zagrad and to Vetrni vrh where I park. Then on foot over Sitni kal past the chapel across the meadow, past the farms towards the summit. Enough snow, good track, weather simply wonderful.

I met Dejan last summer on Brana, when he ran up without a drop of sweat and continued to Planjava. Sympathetic, talkative and definitely excellently conditioned. What caused the accident only he knows. Don't speculate now. Dejan, get well as soon as possible, drop a line and tell how you are. Good luck.

Hello. Jalovec is calling me next week too. Does anyone know if it's safe and which route up and down. I'd go from Vršič and descend to Koritnica. Thanks for the reply. Sonja
