After visiting Midžor in Serbia, Boris and I slept in Pirot, the next day 16.07.22 we headed to Bulgaria to climb Musala. We planned to ascend the same day. Unfortunately at the border crossing in Dimitrograd there was such a queue that we had to wait over four hours to pass. So that day we stopped in Sofia too and late afternoon drove to Borovec where we slept. Morning of 17.07.22 we took the gondola up to Jastrebec. From there to Musala Hut 40 min, then to the shelter another 1h50min and from there to the top 25 min, so total with breaks 2h10. Descent took a bit longer as we lunched at Musala Hut.

For long I had wish to visit highest peaks of almost all Balkan countries. So with friend Boris started journey 15.07.22 at 3.30 from SG. Estimated drive to highest peak Serbia (if not count Kosovo on Stara planina) ca 11 hours. But of course counted, since waited two hours at Serbian border, and due to accident more than hour on highway at Paraćin. Because of that left highway and drove to Zaječar then via Bojevac to Knjaževac and on to Babin Zub. Total drive 14.5 hours. To not return from top in dark hurried a bit and reached summit in 1.5 hours, return 1 hour 15. Drank beer in hotel at Babin Zub and went to Pirot for rest. Drive to Pirot took one hour.

Next year we plan to visit Elbrus. Can someone recommend a reliable guide or agency for this endeavor. I've heard all sorts of things. Thanks in advance.

I too went with a friend on 13.9. after 38 years again via Plemenice to Triglav. Unforgettable.
