Welskogel is 2878 meter high peak with a registration box and a cross in the Verwall Alps. The peak is located 4 km north-northwest from the center of Kappl and 6 km south from the center of Pettneu am Arlberg. The nearest mountain hut is Edmund-Graf-Hütte, located 1.1km north-northwest. Blanka Jagdhütte is also relatively close. 2 km north-northeast from the summit there is glacier Pettneuer Ferner, 2 km north-northeast from the summit there is also glacier Flirscher Ferner.
