Description:
Vertainen is 3049 meter high peak and is part of the National Park Stelvio. The peak is located 2 km east-northeast of peak Madritschspitze - Cima Madriccio. The nearest mountain hut is Martellerhütte - Rifugio Martello, located 3km south-southeast. A little further is Julius Payer Stadl. 5 km east of the peak there is lake Zufritt-Stausee - Lago di Gioveretto. 3 km north-northwest from the summit there is glacier Rosimferner - Vedretta di Rosim, 5 km south-southeast from the summit there is also glacier Ultenmarktferner - Vedretta Ultima. East-southeast of the summit is the valley Martelltal.
