Sauwipfel is 2643 meter high peak and is part of the Zillertal Alps. The peak is located 0.7 km west-southwest of peak Gamsspitz. The nearest mountain hut is Schlüichalm, located 4km east-southeast. bivouac Neugersdorfer Hütte is a bit further away. 5 km northeast of the peak there is lake Eissee. 1.6 km north from the summit there is glacier Rauhkofelkees, 5 km north-northeast from the summit there is also glacier Hohenaukees.
