The nearest mountain hut is Darmstädter Hütte, located 2km south-southeast. A little further is Kartellhütte. 2 km south from the saddle there is glacier Großer Kuchenferner, 4 km east-southeast from the saddle there is also glacier Kartellferner. The saddle is located above the valley Moostal.
