Kamniti lovec / Cima del Cacciatore

Description of peak:
Kamniti lovec is a popular excursion point above Trbiz. It is well visited due to its short access, which is shortened by a cable car to Višarje. Two paths lead to the top of the cross. The first one, which is used by most mountaineers and is also easier, comes from Sveti Višarij, while the other, more difficult one, comes from the Zajzera valley via a marked footpath over the Prašnik saddle. Even the easier route requires considerable caution in the last part. Otherwise, the view of Viš and Jôf di Montasio and their neighbouring peaks from Kamnitý lovec is very nice. The Slovenian peaks are not missing either, where Mangart and Jalovec reign supreme. To the north, Carnic Alps is overloked by the slightly higher Austrian mountains.
