Description of mountain:
Hoher Dachstein is, at 2995 meters, the highest peak of the Dachstein mountain group. The summit is located on the border between the federal states of Styria (Steiermark) and Upper Austria (Oberösterreich) and is also the highest peak of both states. From the top, on which a big cross stands, there is a nice view towards the entire mountain group.
