With a train we arrive in Zidani Most, or we can use another means of transport (car, bus, motorcycle).
Route description:
From Zidani Most railway station we go across a bridge over the river Savinja. Then we turn sharply left and proceed along the asphalt road by the river Savinja to the road crossing over the railway track. Here is a road junction, we continue straight along the asphalt road (definitely not right) for about 500 meters, where we notice a sign for Gašperjeva koča, so we turn right onto the macadam road. We soon reach a ski slope beside which is located the SD log cabin. We continue uphill along the macadam road and soon arrive at Gašperjeva koča. The cottage is open only on Sundays, but during the week we can obtain drinking water. Following the signs, we continue toward Veliko Kozje, and after a few meters we turn left, where the path ascends steeply through a forested slope. We soon reach a vantage point, offering a beautiful view of the Savinja river valley, Zidani Most, and Kum in the distance. We continue along the ridge and a side ridge, and after about 1 hour of walking, we reach a junction where we can turn right toward Radeče, or left, where a marked path soon leads toward Lovrenc and Lisca. Of course, we continue straight uphill toward Veliko Kozje, reaching it after about 20 minutes. The view is truly breathtaking, and from the panoramic spot we proceed straight along the slope, where a marked path leads to Lovrenc and Lisca. We follow this path and, after 1 hour and 30 minutes of walking, arrive at Lovrenc. From Lovrenc, we can already see Lisca in the distance, which is another 1 hour and 30 minutes of walking along a well-marked path with hiking signs. Upon reaching the Sv. Jošt church, we have the choice to head toward Breg via Razbor, or toward Sevnica via Zajčja gora, or continue left to the summit of Lisca. At Lisca, we can obtain food and drink at Tončkov dom, which is closed only on Mondays, then we return in the direction we came. After 250 meters, we can turn left and go via Cirje toward Zajčja gora or Krakovo, and then further to Sevnica, or we can return to the Sv. Jošt church and turn left toward Zajčja gora. I chose this path and returned to Sevnica via it. A very nice tour!

Discussion about the trip Zidani Most - Lisca (Zidani most-Veliko Kozje-lovrenc-Lisca-Sevnica)
PINOKIO5. 07. 2010
Definitely a nice and interesting hike, which anyone can also shorten at their own discretion. For example, from the top of Veliko Kozje you can head downhill and go to Radeč. This shortens the trail a lot. Similarly, from Lovrenc you can head to Loka pri Zidanem mostu or to the Breg railway station. mežikanje

I did this path on Saturday 23.4.2011 the path is super but the walking time is not realistic normal walking with stops from Zid. most to Sevnica over zajčja gora is 6 to 7 hours.
At Veliko Kozje there is no stamp, at Lovrenc there is a stamp but no ink or pad. From Lisca to Sevnica over Zajčja gora the markings are insufficient, a few more wouldn't hurt otherwise super path.
PINOKIO31. 07. 2011
smukc YES you didn't consider that I went to Lisca, rested there a bit, drank a beer and then continued via Ledina and Zajčja gora towards Sevnica! Of course walking time is relative, some rush, some take time to look around on the waynasmehnasmeh Specifically time-wise on my hike I started from the train station Zidani most at 11:30 and arrived in Sevnica at 18:15! mežikanje
PINOKIO31. 07. 2011
And also, at Vel. Kozje the stamp pad is removed, but you have the same stamp at Gašperjeva koča, at Lovrenc you must bring your own pad with ink, at Lisca you have everything, stamps, pads and the hut guest book to sign.nasmeh
smukc1. 08. 2011
It is relative with the difference that I didn't start from the station but had transport to the turnoff for Gašperjeva koča and thus gained almost an hour, I also ate lunch at Veliki Kozji and drank beer at Lisca. At Lovrenc there is also no pad for the stamp and after my criticism that they could add some markers from Lisca to Sevnica via Zajčja gora, new markers miraculously appeared on the next visit.
We could go on a path together sometime and discuss these things. Best regards.
PINOKIO17. 09. 2011
Yeah smukc, we could have arranged and done some tour together, and discussed those things along the way. I'm always up for that, just unfortunately I noticed your message a bit late. I'll peek here more often now. nasmeh Best regards.

Nice hike among the Posavje hills.
bruny19. 04. 2013
Yes, excellent route that really "calls out" and good idea... Maybe it could be extended a bit more. Last year at this time there was winking an active bear mother with cubs around here...
lakkon20. 04. 2013
One can hardly believe it! To Veliko Kozje or. Sveti Peter (near Dvor ob Krki) I was planning to go soon, and exactly there the furry ones might appear, huh? Should I even wander these paths alone?
Stane726. 07. 2014
The elevation gain on the hike to V. Kozje from Zidani Most is 792 m (http://www.hribi.net/izlet/zidani_most_veliko_kozje_/25/839/1494), but if you start a kilometer earlier, walk the whole path and continue to Lisca, where you descend below 700 m a.s.l. and climb back to 948 m a.s.l., the elevation gain on the path is 788 m. That doesn't quite match for me.
Otherwise, thanks to the author for the super hike idea, I walked it today, but descended from Lisca to Breg instead of Sevnica, it's a bit closer.
bruny27. 07. 2014
Probably also recorded the elevation gain only to the top of Veliko Kozje. The entire route with a side trip to Lisca is about double, around 1550-1600 meters of ascent... Maybe @PINOKIO is still active on the forum and will write more...Best
Stane727. 07. 2014
This holds true, otherwise from Veliko Kozje to Lovrenc is more of a walk and takes less than an hour, from Lovrenc to Lisca there are a couple of fairly "steep" climbs and you really have to push to get there in an hour and a half.
If you go down to Breg through Razbor, you need to be very attentive near the church or village center because the markers are quite sparse there.
bruny28. 07. 2014
The path from Zidani Most to Veliko Kozje... is regarded by numerous available sources as the steepest of all marked paths in Zasavje & Posavje. From the specific starting point... the settlement Obrežje pri Zidanem mostu about 700 elevation meters / 2500 meters length. A real nasmeh and they already mežikanje knew when laying out the Zasavska planinska pot that they mežikanje routed it downhill in the official trail.
N3bULA30. 07. 2017
Walked the trail today, but only to Lisca nasmeh.
Waymarks everywhere, trail well marked and fairly well maintained, a couple of problematic (sinkholes, trees on path) spots only between Gašperjeva koča and Veliko Kozje.
But the view from V. Kozje compensates for all troubles.

Service at Lisca catastrophically slow, lunch took 3 hours.

Oh, and hiking time from Z. Most to Lisca 5h 30m, and we're rather slow velik nasmeh
Gorska planika22. 04. 2018
Hiked the trail yesterday: https://www.hribi.net/trenutnerazmere.asp?slo=1&gorovjeid=25&id=933
Despite the steepness, really nice and worth every step nasmeh
N3bULA28. 05. 2018
I visited the path again yesterday.
The path from Gašperjeva koča to V. Kozje is newly marked, fallen trees have also been removed.
From Lisca I then descended towards Sevnica, but instead of via Zajčja Gora I took the slightly shorter path via Krakovo because I was in a hurry for the train.
Unfortunately, this path for the entire last hour (more than 4 km) runs along a flat asphalted road and is exposed to the sun, so I don't recommend this path in summer heat, I almost cooked myself nasmeh
N3bULA1. 01. 2019
This time I decided on this tour on the 1st day of the year.
Started a little after 7am from Zidani Most, at the top of V. Kozje I was the second one nasmeh, but soon after a bunch more came, real crowd hahaha, especially the first time since I go up there that I met someone, greetings to all I met today. The path was unremarkable all the way to Lisca, just very cold on the ridge. From Lisca I descended towards Cerje and then continued towards Zajčja Gora, but a bit further from Cerje everything is still nicely marked with blazes and signposts, then a bit further from the turn-off to Krakovo the marks just disappear, I continued along the most obvious path and after about 2 km reached the next mark, but no more signposts. Unfortunately, most of the path from Lisca to Sevnica via Zajčja Gora is on asphalt mrk pogled. Otherwise a great trip, I used about 6 hours for everything, in summer heat it would be much slower velik nasmeh

Yesterday I took the train to Zidani Most and climbed up past Gašperjeva koča to Veliko Kozje. The short, 3-minute section above the hut is quite overgrown and slippery. At the top of Kozje I was surprised by a beautiful and extremely extensive view, I could see from Klek in Croatia to the Julian Alps and Svinja in Austria. I continued past Lovrenc to Lisca, where I met the only couple of hikers that day. After an excellent mushroom soup I started descending towards Sevnica over Zajčja gora. The path mostly follows the road, but it goes past picturesque villages and over scenic ridges. I did have one rather unpleasant encounter with two barking dogs. Then I walked through Sevnica to the train station and took the train back to Ljubljana. The whole path took me 5h40min. Super fitness hike!
sAleska22. 09. 2022 16:57:30
I too had two such unpleasant (even dangerous) encounters with fiercely barking dogs on the path from Lisca over Zajčja gora. I was walking on the marked path! You have to pass by carefully and quickly.
rokeg5. 05. 2023 20:24:00
Interesting, today there was only one dog, and I signaled to it to "back off" and it obeyed, though it barked quite unpleasantly. There are really quite a few roads, but I found some unmarked shortcuts myself via GPS, so I probably avoided one dog. Otherwise I had a short ascent to Zlateče and then by road to the railway station in Sevnica.

Up to Veliko Kozje you grind your knees, from there on pure enjoyment. Really nice path. First gentians on Lovrenc already blooming. From the starting point before the railway crossing to Lisca I took 5.5 hours, my watch measured 1200m elevation and 13 km.
