Access to starting point:
From Zasavje or Celje we drive to Zidani Most. In Zidani Most we cross the bridge over the river Savinja and right after it we turn sharply left (by the road we notice signs for Gašperjeva koča). This road, which runs along Savinja, we follow to the parking lot, which is situated only a few meters before the railway crossing.
From Trebnje or Krško we drive to Sevnica and we follow the road ahead towards Zidani Most. In Zidani Most we don't cross the bridge over the river Savinja, but we continue straight on a narrow road between the railway and Savinja ahead. We park on the parking lot a few meters before the railway crossing.
Route description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the road which crosses the railway track and then brings us to a crossroad, where we continue on the right upper road in the direction of the mountain hut Gašperjeva koča. Only a little further, we get to another similar crossroad, where we again continue right upwards. The road, which is getting worse, then goes into the forest, where past the village ski slope in a moderate ascent it brings us to the mountain hut Gašperjeva koča.

Nice morning or afternoon walk, although the last part of the path is quite steep. Regards

I'm interested if the hut is still open and when? Namely, it's no longer listed as a mountain hut in PZS. Thanks for the info. Marko

Marko. The hut has been closed for quite some time and it looks very sad. A bit embarrassing for the place.

No matter how sad it is to visit it, is it possible to get the hut stamp somewhere? I'd bring my own beer and snack anyway.

I received a friendly letter from PD Radeče that the hut was handed over to hunters for use. Nowadays it's like that, you have to earn with the hut enough for maintenance and fees. If not, costs are too high and the hut quickly becomes a burden no one wants. So, the hut would be open on weekends, the stamp still exists, visitors aren't chased away.

The hut and surroundings look maintained but not crowded, so I suspect it mostly stands empty. The road was renovated some time ago, but flash floods have already damaged it considerably, stamps and logbook available.
