Stoperce - Donačka gora

Access to starting point:
A) We drive to Rogaška Slatina, and then we continue driving towards Rogatec. In Rogatec at the roundabout we turn "left" in the direction of Ptuj, and then we drive on the main road to the pass Brzika, where the road starts descending. Lower, we get to Stoperce, where we park on a parking lot at Krajevni dom.
B) We drive to Majšperk, and then we follow the signs for Stoperce and Rogatec. When we get to Stoperce we park at Dom krajanov Stoperce.

Route description:
From Dom krajanov Stoperce we walk for a short time along the main road towards Rogatec, and still before the end of the settlement, we go left on a side road in the direction of Donačka gora. A marked path further leads on an asphalt road which from Stoperce brings us to Kupčinji Vrh, where at a few crossroads we continue straight or follow the blazes. Higher, the road ascends a little steeper and brings us to a hamlet, by which there is a marked parking lot.
Here we continue straight on a side road (left Žetale), by which there are signs for Donačka gora. The path ahead leads us past a few houses, a trough with water, and then we go right to the nearby stream, along which we continue for a short time. The path ahead leads through the forest and ascends diagonally, and when we get closer to a meadow, we go left on the lower path. There follows some ascent, and then we cross a macadam road, after which in a minute of additional walking we ascend to Rudijev dom.
From Rudijev dom we continue left in the direction of the peak Donačka gora (right Sv. Jurij, Rogatec and source of Sotla) and at first we walk on a macadam road, from which we soon go right in the direction of the easier path to Donačka gora (straight demanding path to Donačka gora and Žetale).
The path ahead first moderately ascends through the forest, and after a few minutes it passes onto steep slopes and also becomes steeper. Further, we ascend on a well-maintained mountain path, which ascends in numerous zig-zags. Higher, we go past a memorial plaque in memory of Ernst Froelich, who in 1853 made the path to Donačka gora, which was the first marked path in Slovenia. After the memorial plaque there follows a few minutes of ascent on the northwestern slope of Donačka gora, and then we reach the ridge, where we go left. There follows an ascent on and along the forested ridge and in a few minutes we reach the higher, western peak of Donačka gora.
