Rehabilitacijski center St. Radegund pri Gradcu - Schöckl (hiking path)

Access to starting point:
From the highway Maribor - Graz / Graz - Lienzen (A9), we take the exit Gratkorn-Süd, the first exit before the Plabutschtunnel. We turn left in the direction of Graz-Andritz.
At the next traffic-light intersection, we turn left in the direction of Weiz, St. Radegund. We follow the road to the end (approximately 3 km), where at the intersection we turn left again in the direction of St. Radegund.
After 4 km, we pay attention to the left turn-off in the direction of Rinegg. We drive through the settlement Rinegg to the Rehabilitation Center, where at the roundabout we take the 3rd exit and continue uphill.
After 200 m, we park on the right on a smaller parking lot.

Route description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the road slightly upwards, past the turn-off for the lower gondola station, then also past the point where a mountain path joins us from the right side.
After approximately 900 m, we come to a turn-off where the signposts direct us left towards the summit of Schöckl. After 70 m, we leave the wider macadam path and turn left into the forest.
We follow the path through the forest. At the hunting cottage, we continue on the left path through the forest. The right path would bring us to the parking lot "Schöcklkreuz". The path through the forest becomes steeper.
The path is very well marked all the time. At some places, we cross the road or follow it for only a few dozen meters. When we come out of the forest, a view opens up on the alpine pasture below Schöckl.
We stick to the beaten path. After a few minutes, we spot the hut and the transmitter. We continue left on the grassy path to the road. We follow the path in the direction of the smaller transmitter.
After a few minutes, we arrive at the cross, from where we have a wonderful view in all directions.
