Poldov rovt (Vrata) - Visoki Rokav

Access to starting point:
We drive to Mojstrana, then follow the signs for the Vrata valley. Continuing, we drive through the Vrata valley, about 200 meters before the road sign 10 km, where we will notice on the right a cairn and a cart track, where the described path begins.

Route description:
We head onto the cart track that leads into the forest and then past a smaller house, where we continue slightly to the left onto a footpath. Through the forest we ascend slightly to the left towards the Rdeči potok stream. A little before the stream, the path over Brinje branches off to the right (cairn placed, and on the tree is carved some kind of face and letter L). The path then brings us to the stream bed. Here the path goes up the right side (left bank) and soon crosses the stream to the left side. The path ascends through the small valley until a smaller wall blocks the way, where we usually encounter a spring as well. From here the path goes right and steeply ascends via a natural passage. Slightly exposed and unsecured. We are above a small waterfall (if there is water). Here we exit the forest and ascend over some scree fields. The path over the scree is not comfortable as storms and avalanches destroy it every year. The path soon turns slightly right and ascends briefly up the grassy slope. Then follows another ascent beside scree fields and soon we reach the bivouac na Jezerih, which we will notice on our left.
Here we can overnight or just shelter in case of a thunderstorm. Here the terrain flattens. The view of Triglav from here is very nice.
The path from the bivouac onwards slowly disappears but we can still follow it. We walk across the meadow called Na Jezerih (supposedly there used to be a lake here). Soon on the left we spot a not very inviting steep and narrow couloir. Our goal now is the saddle between Srednji and Visoki Rokav, which we reach via a steep ascent through crumbly and often icy couloir (the ascent up the couloir is easier when there is still snow in it). Ice axe, crampons and helmet are mandatory equipment on this section. When we step onto the saddle (notch), a view opens onto Škrlatica (access possible from this side too). Ahead the climbing part of the tour begins, where the climbing difficulty often reaches 3rd grade. For the further ascent we will need a climbing harness and rope.
A little before the notch in the ascent direction from the Jezerca side, we will notice on our right a steep chimney, up which we ascend one level higher with the aid of a piton (it assists us in belaying with the rope). The path then transitions to the ridge along and on which we ascend. Difficulties on the exposed ridge occasionally still exceed 2nd difficulty grade. A little below the summit the steepness eases and the increasingly panoramic "path" quickly brings us to the panoramic summit.

The path through Rokavski ozebnik is often icy and dangerous for slipping. Due to the major technical difficulties in the upper part of the mountain, embark on the path only if appropriately equipped and only in stable weather. Go on this path with someone who has already been to the summit, preferably a mountain guide.
