Access to starting point:
We drive to Mojstrana, then follow the signs for the Vrata valley. We continue driving through the Vrata valley, about 100 meters before the 10 km road sign, and we will notice a cart track that branches off to the right perpendicular to the main road. Here is the start of the described path. The marked parking lot where parking is allowed is located approximately 500 meters further along the main road.
Route description:
We head onto the cart track that leads into the forest and then past a smaller house, where we continue slightly to the left onto a footpath. Through the forest, we ascend slightly to the left towards Rdeči potok. A little before the stream, the path over Brinje branches off to the right (placed cairn, and on the tree is carved some kind of face and letter L). The path then brings us to the stream bed. Here the path goes along the right side (left bank) upwards and then soon crosses the stream to the left side. The path ascends through a small valley until a smaller wall blocks the path, where we usually also encounter a small spring. The path goes from here to the right and steeply ascends on a natural passage. Slightly exposed, not secured. We are above a small waterfall (if there is water). Here we come out of the forest and ascend over some scree fields. The path over the scree is not comfortable as storms and avalanches destroy it every year. The path soon turns slightly to the right and ascends for a short time on a grassy slope. Next follows ascent beside the scree fields and soon we reach the bivouac na Jezerih, which we will notice on our left.

Discussion about the trip Poldov rovt (Vrata) - Bivak na Jezerih
smolko4. 02. 2015
Its days are numbered as they say it's no longer good. It's a pity. It has withstood the weather for almost 80 years. In its current condition, it would last at least that much longer. Another piece of Slovenian mountaineering history will disappear.
martin44. 02. 2015
smolko where did you hear that? I was there, even slept over. Location worth mentioning! Entries in the book tell the stories...
smolko6. 02. 2015
They say it will be new.
kolpa19. 11. 2015
Yesterday, 18.11.2015, a Slovenian army helicopter with the help of mountain rescuers took the bivouac down to the valley. They couldn't tell us exactly when and what kind they will install in the future. Considering it withstood nature for almost 80 years and was a second home to hikers, the sight was quite sad. I hope we can use the comfort of the new bivouac already in 2016 (let it be similar to the one under Skuta, which was originally intended for this location).
anzecokl19. 11. 2015
Are there any broken trees on the path?
andrejp20. 11. 2015
nothing special... it was really interesting to watch how the helicopter took the bivouac away, at the same time you know you left things inside... of course the guys packed everything next to the bivouac
anzecokl20. 11. 2015
Nice
matej71220. 11. 2015
I hope they set up something like that shack under Skuta.
matej71220. 11. 2015
correction
I hope they don't build....
anzecokl20. 11. 2015
Good luck!
potočan21. 11. 2015
What's missing for this one under Skuta, you have to move forward with time. Matej712, do you still have skret na štrbunk at home?
viharnik21. 11. 2015
It's easiest to negate someone's work, they have no clue about the effort invested in itrolling.
ločanka22. 11. 2015
This path, which I first climbed decades ago, was one of my first unmarked paths. For that reason, the bivouac was also precious to me. I know we had quite a bit of trouble finding Poldov rovt or the real start of the path, but that happened to me later too.
Hanging out around the bivouac was always pleasant.

21.11.2015 What's missing under Skuta, time moves on. Matej712, do you still have that hook at home on the bunk.

I don't know about Matej, but for myself, I know I don't have it. But I also know that I have a couple of girls in bed. And there you go, the previous bivouac didn't lack that, the new one does. Just like that.
matej71222. 11. 2015
I agree @jax. Additionally, in another thread it's written that the doors of the one under Skuta are already closing poorly and that the old equipment was thrown into the nearby cave.

If the new one lasts as long as the old one, I take back my words.

I'm curious about the current situation with this bivouac. Does it stand or not?
metod7. 09. 2016
Hey, no bivouac yet. mežikanje
Viper7. 09. 2016
Will there even be a bivouac?
gorska_kozica8. 09. 2016
Thanks, Metod.

It might also make sense to note in the bivouac description that it no longer exists. So no one goes looking for it up there. zmeden
ljubitelj gora8. 09. 2016
Already at the starting point there is a sign with a warning
Tadej8. 09. 2016
I have added to the bivouac description, as well as the path description, that there is currently no bivouac.
Mojo jojo3. 10. 2016
The bivouac is there
ZeK3. 10. 2016
the bivouac is there, from the outside it looks quite similar to the previous one, in short a renovated former bivouac. for my taste pure victory. I'm already looking forward to it.
lepenatka17. 06. 2017
Has anyone walked this path recently?
Is there still any snow?
Happy trails.
ljubitelj gora17. 06. 2017
No more snow on the path, no problem to Šplevta either and further to Dovški križ it's dry.
lepenatka18. 06. 2017
Thanks, best regardsnasmeh
lepenatka18. 06. 2017
Very nice tour, extended to Šplevta and descent via Brinje - a bit different from most hikers.
Lots of flowers on the summit and around the bivouac.

"The path goes right from here and steeply ascends through a natural passage." Doesn't it turn "left"? Pictures 8, 9 also lack detail on exactly where to go or turn.
bbugari130. 08. 2020
Of course, left.
gams130. 08. 2020
eek the description and photos are really so-so, if someone already uploaded it here, at least repeat the route in nice weather and take photos and upload correct pics. rolling eyes

Today a bright green helmet rolled away from me from bivouac 2 at the lakes towards the valley. If anyone finds it, I buy the beer! Thanks and nice mountain greeting! velik nasmeh
