Parkirišče pred kapelico - Mali Rajinac (via Buljevac)

Access to starting point:
From the Zagreb - Split motorway, take the Otočac exit. Continue along the road towards the village of Krasno and Northern Velebit. The very winding road takes us through the village of Švica to Krasno, where the road from Senj joins (access possible also from this direction). In Krasno, continue towards the signs for Northern Velebit National Park and Zavižan Hut. The road then becomes gravel and takes us to the park entrance, where the entrance fee is collected. Continue along the road, which just before the chapel brings us to a small parking lot by the road, where we notice the signs for Mali Rajinac.

Route description:
From the parking lot, head onto the hiking trail, which initially descends slightly and circles around a sinkhole on the right side of the path. Then follow the ascent to the point where the trail emerges from the forest. Follow the trail, which runs through a beautiful grassy clearing, to the junction at Buljevac. Here, take the path towards Mali Rajinac. The trail soon descends into the forest after a few meters, continuing with some descents and ascents. The trail crosses several scenic clearings and eventually brings us to the next junction on a larger clearing.
Continue left again towards Mali Rajinac, which is another 50 minutes away. On the other side of the clearing, the marking on the rock R.J. tells us we are on the right path. The trail then ascends again through the forest, aided by frequent markers. The trail almost circles the summit and brings us to the top via increasingly less vegetated slopes.
