Access to starting point:
A) From the highway Ljubljana - Koper, we take the exit Brezovica, from where we continue driving left on the old road towards Vrhnika. Still in Brezovica, we notice signs for Podpeč, which direct us to the left. We drive through Vnanje and Notranje Gorice to Podpeč, where at the crossroads we continue left towards the village Jezero. We follow the road through the village for a few 100 m, after which signs for Podpeško jezero direct us to the right. Further on, we follow the somewhat narrower road to the parking lot by Podpeško jezero.
B) From Ljubljana, we drive to Črno vas, then we continue driving towards Podpeč, where we join the road from Brezovica. In Podpeč, we again continue left (direction Jezero). Further, we drive a few 100 m, after which signs for Podpeško jezero direct us to the right onto the somewhat narrower road, which we follow to the parking lot by the already mentioned lake.
Route description:
From the parking lot at Podpeško jezero, we return about 100 m back, then we head onto the road in the direction of Krim (left road viewed from the access direction to the starting point). We continue the path through the village, keeping to the right directions at the crossroads. After approximately 15 minutes of easy walking, we reach the homestead Špelin, where signs for Krim direct us left onto an ascending footpath, which quickly enters the forest. Further, we ascend relatively steeply for a short time, then we join the cart track from the village Jezero (we would arrive via it if at the smaller crossroads behind the chapel we continued on the left road). We follow the cart track uphill; it soon brings us to a macadam road, which we merely cross. A short ascent through the forest follows, and the path brings us to the meadows of the area named Planinca (also Planinica). Here, the path turns left and quickly brings us to an isolated homestead, behind which the path past Ledenica joins from the left. Here, we continue right and in a few more steps arrive at the church of St. Tomaž on Planinca.
We bypass the church on the left side and continue on the gentle cart track, which gradually enters the forest. The cart track soon ascends more steeply for a short time, then turns slightly right, where it gradually leads onto the western slopes. Here, the path from Dolenje Brezovica joins from the right; we continue straight on the gradually steeper cart track path. A little higher, we cross another forest road, then the path begins to turn slightly left, where after a few more minutes of moderate ascent, the path from Strahomer, Vrbljen and Tomišelj joins.
We continue right in the direction of Krim and proceed on the initially gentle, then gradually steeper cart track. Higher up, the cart track turns somewhat left and then right. After the latter bend, it also flattens completely and a few 10 m further joins the road leading to Krim. We follow the mentioned road left; after 10 minutes of walking, it brings us to the parking lot and turning area below the summit of Krim. Here, we continue right and via the road or marked footpath in a few minutes of further walking arrive at the summit of Krim.

But you get used to those bears jumping around you all the time!

How can you get used to animals jumping around you? Sometimes I think I'd rather live among bears or some other representatives of the animal world than with people. (not you, so there's no misunderstanding). You had quite a gloomy day though, but the pictures are nice regardless of the weather.

Okmodko, I'm really curious how many bears were jumping around you? Wasn't there some she-bear among them?

I'd really like to photograph one live, and also invite Tiso along ....

No doubt you'd enjoy it, surrounded by bears as you say But I think MG42 is right that it's winter after all, I hadn't thought of that. If you were surrounded, you'd have taken a picture of one, right? Just what did you see, I'm curious? Or are you maybe pulling our leg a bit.....

Hello. Can one reach Krim on Saturday or Sunday normally without any crampons? Gaiters though, right? Is this trail or another one more dangerous now than described? The bears have hidden and there are none, right?

IMPORTANT! I ask all hikers to keep their dogs on a leash! (bear area.) Best hunting regards. Klement Mal, LD Tomišelj
