PD Lj-Matica is organising a Winter mountaineering course on 13.02.2010 for easy and demanding tours, which unfortunately I won't be able to attend.
Does anyone happen to know if there's any other similar course organised in February or early March?

yes I'm saying I looked there and under training only Winter course is listed which I wrote above I can't attend.
Well next to it climbing school is listed too, but that's not what I'm looking for.

Mountaineering Club Iskra Kranj invites its members and other mountaineers to the winter mountaineering school. It will take place on Tuesdays, 9., 16. and 23. March in the meeting room of PD Iskra at Labore. Practical part and analysis of the training will be on Saturday, 27. March 2010, at Zelenica. Return from Zelenica on Saturday afternoon.
The course is intended for those who would like to visit mountains safely also in winter. We will devote some attention also to touring skiers.
Participants will thereby acquire knowledge and skills from winter mountaineering. You will also get lots of information regarding mandatory equipment, which is very necessary in winter. Along the way we will discuss situations in which you have found yourselves in winter and try to answer your questions.
The course will be led by Marjan Ručigaj and Stanko Dolenšek.

Marjan is an instructor, he also has all categories done, in addition he is an alpinist with huge international experiences.

Hehe, Marjan is otherwise also a mountain rescuer who has many life experiences. I will just say this too: it is a joy to learn from such a person, and I am glad that I am a guide in our club and that I have someone who has huge answers to my questions why it is like that.

No need to have, we also lend them among ourselves, so no panic, we have some at the club too, so everyone practices. If you can get crampons and ice axe it'd be great, if not let me know I have some spare. Regards

Will we learn on the course how to self-arrest with ice axe in case of fall and such.
