We started at 6am, descended from BV at 4pm. I recommend the tour to everyone who knows how to handle such slopes, strongly recommend ice tools (can't do the chimney without them). Only one anchor in the chimney for abseil... "Ljubiteljgora" you go alone huh? save for three years and you'll have it. take it slow buddy, no need all at once. Anyway for this you need more than just gear. Oh, why the self-belay kit?

Today I was on Vrtača. Started at 6.00 from Ljubelj. At Zelenica just at sunrise. Continued through Suho ruševje to gully "y". Up the gully to the top. Snow is firm and frozen, gully is "filled". Without crampons and ice axe no go! Great views from top. Descended south side. Weather and conditions fantastic! But I wonder: is it usual that the hut at Zelenica is closed at this time and nice weather? Met lots of hikers.

Yesterday I climbed Vrtača via gully Y. The path from Završnica valley over Suho ruševje is proper winter, snow hard, creaks under feet, real winter conditions, path well trodden, but still without ice axe and crampons not to be attempted. Recommend to all who enjoy winter nature and great views.

today climbed Vrtača, conditions fairly OK but a bit postholing where it shouldn't...otherwise we chose the right one and it turned out harder variant cuz there's a small step in middle not filled enough...fun otherwise...

Yesterday up the south gully to Vrtača. Conditions very solid, although postholing in places on shorter sections. In the upper part the sun was already properly warming us, on top light breeze and super views...and no crowds
On the whole path we met only one guy, who after ascent via east was descending the south...in contrast to neighboring Begunjščica which looked like an anthill

Today (Sunday, 6 February) my Canon PowerShot SX10 IS camera in the bag fell from the top of Vrtača. It rolled down the gully towards the hut at Završnica spring. In case someone has found/will find it, please let me know on phone 041 518 201 or via email adolf.jelenc@gmail.com.
