Congratulations Uroš, for both trips. That's how it's done, early bird catches the worm.

Uroš, if you ever combine the ascent to VBŠ with the approach via the gully (Canale della Trincea), which branches off the Saxon King's path, you'll be much more satisfied with the trip.

Really beautiful and unforgettable High White Spire. Uroš, I believe it has also imprinted itself in your memory forever.
By the way, Drago, your mentioned gully interests me too. Last year I heard there was a rockfall in the gully. Do you know anything about it?

Regards.

nasmeh first of all, congrats on the ascent also from my side, when you get used to captioning the photos too and describing what they represent and what they mean - like unfortunately fewer and fewer local forum visitors do, then your posts might be even more interesting for us.

Stane, I know nothing about the rockfall. I haven't been there this year.
If there was one, I think it was in the middle section, where two years ago it was already detaching from the wall... Only there it's crumbly.
But that probably shouldn't affect the passage much, because there's that smoother part above it.
But this is more chit-chat, not a description of current conditionsnasmeh

By the way, one question on this topic. I assume there are no blankets in Gorica bivouacs - need to bring everything; am I wrong? Thanks for any answer!

I didn't look inside the bivouac, because there were about 10 Czechs outside by the bivouac who were vacationing there, blasting the radio, drying laundry, cooking.... I went back to the valley and slept in the car instead! Wondering where the control is.... Really more and more of these vacationers in the mountains who just take over the bivouacs... Sad!mrk pogledmrk pogled

problem is big, where to get so many volunteers to check bivouacs in Julian Alps with us in Italy and same with you? how does control work with you in Slovenia? with us if you warn such Czechs or Poles they don't give a damn - to put it bluntly-, I heard there's a tourist agency organizing-promoting these "vacations" in bivouacs, does anyone have official info? I already officially informed the president of our CAI FVG (PD FJK), we need everyone's help and info so that officially like the FJK region we can somehow get out of this, thanks for any info, PD CAI Tarvisio.

Ascent to VBŠ without peculiarities. We start on the Saxon King's Path and push through the Trincea gully into the Upper Krnica of Beli Potok. Here we turn left into the gully descending from Zgornja Škrbina of Beli Potok, via which we reach the mentioned saddle. Then ascent and descent via normal route, III-/II. We belay on ascent, descend using abseil.

They say Friday the 13th is an unlucky day. But this Friday wasn't, for me it was an extremely lucky daynasmeh.
Standing on the summit of such a wonderful mountain as High White Spire is like winning the lottery, you can't believe you're one of the chosen ones who stepped onto its royal peak. Beautiful, lovely, bold from all sides and just a bit back almost inaccessible. That's why the joy at the top is so much greater.

It was long desired and admired, but planned only briefly. Everything had to align: company, weather, free time.
We gathered at the agreed time at the parking lot by the bridge and ascended along the murmur of Beli Potok water past Brunner to Gorizia bivouacs, where we really took time to rest and admire. Earlier we had already watched climbers in the North Gully of VBŠ and followed their progress for a while. Tone knew all the details, as he had been in their route just two months earlier.

The area around the bivouacs is indescribably beautiful, it captivates you, you'd just sit there and enjoy. You admire ibex curiously pacing nearby, chamois grazing carefree a bit higher.
Here we split, the three of us went towards the saddle under VBŠ, Tadeja towards Krniška Škrbina.
At Zg. Škrbina of Beli Potok we decided to gear up with everything we had, as the load on our backs was already enough. And it was the only right decision, as the wall sometimes stands quite steep, so the joy at the last belay station, when you step onto the edge of the grassy oasis, was all the greater.
From shade you step into sun, the world opens up and just a few relaxed steps (at least that's how it felt to menasmeh) to luxurious views that on Friday reached all the way to snowy High Turrets.

Luck takes your breath away, words are simply superfluous. When you look at the world around you from the top of VBŠ, it feels like something was gifted to you, how not, as just a bit back it lived only in dreams.
But descent was needed too, we did it by abseil, as that's the safest way in this world. The tour is finished only when you step back onto the saddle and descend easily over the scree.

That the tour was good, we all agreed and toasted to it at the inn by Rabeljsko Lake. Even Rabelj Peaks were shining more than usual on Fridaynasmeh.
