Last time I slept in a sleeping bag, and still had three blankets over so it depends how cold-sensitive you are it was really cold that evening otherwise 8 could easily fit inside

Yesterday night headed to Triglav via Tominsko, but got a bit tired, and found more snow than expected, plus crusty snow that doesn't hold human weight. Crampons "mandatory" around 2000m where steeper gully starts, then with them sometimes scraping rocks, sometimes sinking in snow. At junction decide enough trudging and self-torment and turn towards Valentin Stanič hut. From hut go check High Vrbovska Spica and other side to ridge to Rjavina. Here watch sunrise, all effort rewarded. Descent over prag less strenuous-somewhat more trodden, but also more ice. Probably wrong path choice for conditions, still great day PS: if not mistaken signposts near Aljazev dom via Tominsko to V.S. hut half hour less than to Kredarica, at junction 20' to V.S. and 1h30' to Kredarica. Anyone know why such difference?!

Because up there you're already a bit "worn out" and those valley half hours stretch a bit.

Nice tour. I have something similar planned, as soon as there's time. I assume there's still quite some snow on the climbing to Rjavina from Kot, and probably the same from Vrbanove back to Kot. Am I wrong?

Hi Otiv! That you have a "photographer's eye" in the right place, I've known and seen for long. But allow a short personal thought: - every picture is nicer if added a short caption reflecting knowledge of the subject's nature. That shouldn't be a problem for you. I wish you many more nice enjoyments in nature!!

What's the condition on the path from Stanič Hut to Kredarica? Is winter gear still needed (or does daytime sun soften the snow enough)? Thanks.

I was there the night from Wed to Thu, and it was possible without issues, meaning now a few days later the path is at most even easier. Some snow, but fully south-facing, and rock bypasses are getting larger. Good luck!

Hi, Dleskovec. I always gladly write something under the photo, but sometimes it doesn't work out, as I participate in many forums, foreign ones too and all takes time... after such a long tour at least for me... sometimes I'm really tired and the result isn't to my liking either.

Hi! Does anyone have any information about snow patches on the path from Kot valley to Stanič hut? I'm interested if the path is already safe without winter gear or not. Thanks and best regards

There's still some, how (un)safe it is I don't know cuz we went from Krma.

Usually it's like that, you can get (safely) to Triglav without winter gear from Krma via Planika sooner than from Kot to Stanič's hut.
