Today, unmarked ascent to Kogel and descent past the Pavle Kemperle bivouac to Kokrsko saddle and into the valley. Morning weather excellent, afternoon fog rolled in. Above 2100 m snow, but no trouble as there is little of it. Crossing of Gamsov skret excellently secured. Lp

This Gamsov skret has been pulling us for some time, ever since we missed the path - the track got lost among fallen trees, about 3 years ago, probably the path is now more trodden. @ garmont, where is the end of this tour, the hut is unknown to me? LP

Refreshment spot "Pri Jurčku". Approx. 100 meters before the Dom in Kamniška Bistrica, turn left across the stream bed. Pleasant, homely. Lp

You pick interesting hikes, @garmont! I've gone over Gamsov skret several times but never seen any chains. Is there maybe a chain on that lower ledge to the right on the attached pic? Probably always took the variant that @capin mentions above. Lp

Yes, yes, exactly that one. But they extended the chain all the way to the entry on the left side, which considerably eases entry into the wall.

... we've been to Kamniška Bistrica so many times already, but always past it. And how are the opening hours of that hut?

What days. May this continue, although it's already the 5th day higher up or in slightly lower hills and legs already hurt a bit. So, up Gamsov skret, at the bench two more mountaineers going to Rinke, we turn left on marked path to bivouac and right to Skuta. A bit easier pace today, enjoying to the max the warm day, extraordinary panorama, and feeling of freedom, as I'm finally free. A bit after turnoff to Mlinarska saddle left, Skuta right, we decide it's enough for today, no need for summit as descent still awaits, so return to bivouac, lie down a bit, enjoy the views. Descent from Cojzova properly drags for us, but at the car only enthusiasm for the beautiful day..

Today over Žmavčarje to bivouac below Skuta. Then over Male Pode and over Sleme to Veliki Podi and then descent over Gamsov skret to valley. Weather excellent all the time, some fog just over Turska gora. Yes, autumn is beautiful in mountains and especially yellow. Lp

Pikica1 Chamois that are numbered were vaccinated against scabies. And those we admired on Friday on Štruca are males and all numbered. Lp Dragon nice photos- where did you find that window on no.3? Lp

Pikica1 I also didn't know why they are numbered, thanks Tonika for the answer. Then this poor one I met below Bovški gamsovec probably wasn't vaccinated

@Tonika I also thank you for the answer, haven't seen free-living animals tagged like this yet. Except a bird that stayed in my memory especially this poor little one. Obviously poorly attached ring loosened and squeezed it only halfway on the leg and grew into it like that

Yesterday we did a circular tour on unmarked paths and trails: Žagana peč – Gamsov skret at Kogel – below Sleme – bivouac below Skuta – Žmavčarji. Past Kogel we went via upper passage without cable. The shelf itself, though unprotected, is not difficult as you can at least grab rocks; access to it via very steep grass and single rocks is another story – holds from grass tufts and steps from wet soil are not very credible. Above Gamsov skret we crossed southern slopes of Sleme off-trail, where even remnants of trails were found, otherwise the slope is passable (with good visibility). Descended through Žmavčarji. P. S.: If the new bivouac below Skuta wants to be really modern, it should have sources for eco-friendly energy (e.g. solar panels, wind turbines). For a bulb and USB socket power plenty of electricity could be obtained easily. See new Gervasutti bivouac above Courmayeur equipped with PC and internet and more: http://www.summitpost.org/the-new-bivouac-gervasutti/802173 and http://www.bivaccogervasutti.com/ (see tab »Instruzioni per l'uso«). But this bivouac is much harder to access.

Macesna this bivouac is already too popular now. I went one day before you similar loop, met 10 of them on descent through Žmavčarji heading there.

@macesna, the passage below Sleme is called "Umik Slemena" and used to have much more importance (before making the secured path over Streža). That's why the trail...
