Usually I praise mežikanje, sometimes I point out something. The muddy path to Gospodična gets you a bit in a bad mood, then you reach the peak and come across such a soaked, full and disintegrating book. You only see such on Olševa, but from PD Krka one would expect that these things don't happen.

Yesterday the path to Trdinov Peak was dry after a long time nasmeh, on the peak there is really a new logbook mežikanje, at Miklavž there is a nice view of the meadows, as spring is in bloom...

On Sunday we went as a family to Dolenjska.
First we took a short walk at Gradišče above Stična nasmeh, then we headed to Trdinov Peak jezik, and at the end we treated ourselves to refreshment at one of the swimming pools mežikanje.

Hi!
Today we visited Trdinov Peak and the Mountain Hut at Gospodična.
Let me say the paths are very nicely marked. First we stopped at the bar in the Gospodična Mountain Hut....service ok, a student girl served us, no sense of humor but still very friendly. As expected, bar prices quite high. Then we headed to Trdinov Peak and surprise here. On the peak there's a small buffet, served by a very friendly gentleman, told us a bit generally about Trdinov Peak and surprisingly the bar is quite a bit cheaper than at Gospodična.
Followed by return to Gospodična for wild boar goulash...it was great, service also quite fast. Well we waited a bit but it was somehow within normal limits, as there were quite a few of us hungry.
Conclusion ....it was great and we'll repeat for sure. nasmehnasmeh

Hello,

I'm interested if you know these two paths to Trdinov Peak? Are they well marked? Is parking possible at the starting points? How long does the ascent take with fairly fast walking? I'm attaching a map
1. Dolž (approx. 400m) – past Čelo – across Glažarica (if there's a path, otherwise by road) – upper Gorjanski graben – summit
2. Pangrč grm (approx. 280m along Sovpat stream) – Sv. Miklavž – Rute – Jelenov skok – upper Gorjanski graben - summit
For comparison this http://www.hribi.net/izlet/gabrje_trdinov_vrh_/25/735/1325 with short stops and some photography takes me approx. 1h40min.

Thanks for the help.

do the Dolenjska hikers perhaps already have winter sleep, so no answer to my so-called post?

well, to upgrade it a bit. are these paths quickly trodden in winter conditions? otherwise no problem for me to go untrodden, if there's at least decently marked path and some normal snow amounts.

Maybe it would be better to email PD Krka Novo mesto, they will tell you most accurately.

In snow probably quickly trodden are only the classics from Gabrje and from Miklavž to the summit, the others need a few days. If you're not an expert, you can get quite properly lost or wander on Gorjanci.

Of course the road is always available to you.

Edit: or just call Dom na Miklavžu, they surely know all the corners in their end.

We never thought before to go "to the mountains" to Dolenjska nasmeh. But if they have the most snow there, we'll go there anyway, we said... because we really wanted a nice winter fairy tale "from car to car" with a bit more than just a few cm of snow... And yes, the choice was spot on nasmeh.

P.S. Already when returning, morning photos no longer reflected "current conditions". The sun had considerable power during the day and most white decorations fell from trees (a lot also on our necks mežikanje). Fairy-tale winter remained only at start and a bit higher, where fog lasted all day...
Already at the starting point in Gabrje it looked promising...1

It was so beautiful that we laughed heartily, the thing by the path too... :-)4

It's nice to be a little kid again... :-)22

...and one wonderful day was almost over...25

Gita, really nice... considering I live quite close to Trdinov Peak, I really go up too seldom... if other peaks elsewhere in our country interest me... but I was already in this winter idyll on Gorjanci... how much snow was there higher up and if anything was visible so that paths from elsewhere were trodden? ... I'm interested from Pangrč grm or even better from Dolž... hope someone reports with useful info... tomorrow (Saturday) won't be so nice, but probably the day can pass without precipitation...

@lakkon, towards the summit around 30 cm snow, more in drifts of course, no trodden approaches from other directions noticed on Thursday.

In the morning from Sv Jakoba above Katarina spotted the tower on Trdinov Peak and a few hours later stood next to it. Despite increasing opacity, could see all the way to Jalovec, 150 km away. Taking photos at minus 12 and strong wind had to be done quickly.

There's quite nice snow on Gorjanci too. I was on Cirnik above Čatež. There up to around 40cm, on Sv. Jeri according to conditions 14 days ago around half a meter.

On the road Gabrje - Gospodična wet and snowy sections alternate, with a little care the road is normally drivable.
From Krvavi kamen we went directly past hunting observatories towards the summit, descent by road and then by car to Sv. Miklavž, where we enjoyed the sun in peace.

According to the forecast, we headed to Dolenjska, to Trdinov Peak and Gospodična, two gentlemen and six ladies. We started in the village Gabrje, marked just over two and a half hours. Warnings to walk marked paths, which we respect. Path easy, quite muddy in places, on Saturday there was quite some moisture in the air. In the lower part beeches greened, higher up still nothing green, beeches bare, spring flowers in the forest. First to Trdinov Peak, quite a few hikers, youth, most locals, also visitors from Styria and elsewhere. Descent to the hut at Gospodična, known for good food. Despite many visitors, service went well, dumplings and blueberry strudel, all excellent. Total 800m elevation and 14 km. Maybe next time in winter conditions, and also to Miklavž.
Start in the village Gabrje, two and a half hours ascent.1

Yesterday (8.2.) hike to Trdinov Peak. We left the car in Gabrje. We go to Dom pri Gospodični, then to Trdinov Peak, continuing to hut at Miklavž, back to Gospodična and down to Gabrje. In the morning the path was nicely frozen, on return frost eased and it was muddy. Exception was path just below summit and towards Miklavž, where it was icy. Great caution needed. Wonderful views to all our highest peaks. Almost no snow. Lots of peoplenasmeh
