Just as a curiosity, I'm wondering... does anyone know if Kardelj and his friends went to that weekend on foot or arrived like gentlemen with some helicopter?

@LISAC ... maybe one was watching us, but we didn't see any . Due to the heat I was extra careful, but nothing to see. But around Koštrunovec tons of edelweiss, in Velska dolina some fearless chamois herds.

For aspis it's generally too high. But I nearly grabbed a viper two years ago from Koštrunovec towards Mišelj vrh

I've been heading to Velska dolina since... well, forever, but since it's full of markers and crowds, I always skillfully avoid it. When I finally step into it yesterday, I can't believe how all kinds of tourists overlook it. Among the autumn conifers, I promise myself I'll come back in autumn (well, just didn't specify which autumn the larches below the wall of Mišelj vrh-Mišelj konec will shower me with golden needles  ). Where the marked path turns right at the end of the valley, I go straight across the rocky flower carpet and then a bit up the scree until I reach the clear junction to Mišeljski konec. From there on it's all harder as the sun's already baking mercilessly. I don't linger at the top but continue along the ridge to Na Nizkem. For that ridge bulge, I wanted to find a passage to the valley, but no need to bother as you just go and go. Once in between I couldn't locate a snake, which at this altitude can only be a viper, so I kicked it onto the scree and slid down it enjoyably for a while in a light skid. In Mišeljska dolina I run into enjoyers who had descended from Mišelj vrh on the same path as me. We exchange a word or two, then back to the embrace of silence when suddenly muuuuu; first group of cows, then another with a bull in the middle. Right at the edge I hurry so almost plunge into the bushes and breathe a sigh of relief when they stay back there somewhere. Soon I treat myself to a snack and thus meet the enjoyers for the second time. Third was at the spring, a bit above planina Na Jezercu. I too stop briskly and down half a liter in one go, take twice as much with me, which was a very wise decision as the bottles are almost empty by the parking lot.

Long but beautiful: from Rudno polje to Velo polje, through Velska dolina to Dolič saddle and to Mišeljski konec. In Velska dolina even two overtook me, otherwise only whistling of marmots. From summit traverse to Mišelj vrh. Ridge from saddle under Na Nizkem onwards not the easiest, but carefully and doable. Back to saddle then descent to Mišeljska dolina. Expressly on scree. Deserved snack at Velo polje pasture and looong way to Rudno polje. Timetable: Rudno polje -Dolič 4.30 hrs, Dolič Mišeljski konec 1 hr, to Mišelj vrh 1.30 hrs, from summit to Velo polje 2 hrs, to Rudno polje another 3.
