To Triglav?

Sakai, I agree with you !!
I with my colleague have planned this weekend trip to Triglav a month already.
We didn't go due to bad weather.
Though we started Saturday 20.06 morning from Varaždin and in Ptuj light rain started.
At 6 arrived in Žetale.
Climbed the top of Donačka gora,
it was slippery, windy, and messed up.
In Rudej hut drank tea and coffee and at 12h back to Varaždin.
Second day beautiful weather and it was a pity we didn't use that day for some peak in Kamniške savinjske Alpe, but we couldn't wake up early again.
Today raining again.
This weekend definitely wasn't for Triglav!!
But I with friend was on Triglav anyway, on Donačka gora, on Styrian Triglav 882 m.
For real Triglav we wait for some better days, better weather.
Ascent to Styrian Triglav this weekend, waiting for better weather for the real Triglav!1

Janek, what did you want to say what a tough guy you are. Sakai said rightly, you're extremely irresponsible k..... Lp Franc

janek: Maybe you don't realize that mountain rescuers risk their lives to rescue tough guys like you. Otherwise forum not for boasting but mainly about conditions on path and such

I don't think he was really boasting about it.. it seems more like a warning written in a more "comic" way (at least that's how I get it).. I think many should read this and think twice when heading to high mountains with bad forecast.. hope it was a lesson for you two and you won't lose joy for the hills anyway.. GUYS AND GIRLS, DON'T SHIT YOURSELVES AND NEXT TIME USE YOUR HEAD..
Nice mountaineering greetingnasmeh

There are GPS devices (60csx), help in poor visibility, unmarked paths,....
If nothing else, you can get back following your own track on GPS. I use it constantly and it often helps. (especially in accidents, you can report exact location)

Really ironic that they went to Triglav with crampons but without ice axe. Well, at least the initial gear intention was right, winter in mountains is far from over. In mountains it's also nice when nature sweeps, but then you need to plan and account for greatly changed conditions, appropriate gear (warm clothes, tech aids, compass, GPS) and easy descent route and last but not least flawless detailed terrain knowledge on return.

As for Janek, I don't know if he's ever been on any mountain, I mean vivid imagination, just writing, all small caps ... I think this is again one of those known tricks so readers grab every 'bone' ...

At least there's something to discuss on the forum now, when the weather for mountains is less suitable due to rain, and a nice mountain greeting.

I think this is an extremely irresponsible act by Janek, unnecessarily putting himself and others in danger. I sincerely hope this will be a lesson for all your days.

I wouldn't comment on grammar at all. I think it's all just provocation, which we all fell for like a fly to honey (to put it nicely).
Why am I actually writing this post?confused

They were up there, mentioned on the GRS portal. That's really short, to charge such a prank and amen. I wonder who was the other special guy? Mountain greeting! Lajči

Of course they were up at Kredarica, it's published on Gore-ljudje too. But it surprises me that meteorologists let them out in poor visibility, since after so many years of service one gains a feel for who is sensible and who, due to lack of terrain knowledge, puts rescuers into bad weather conditions too. Should they have locked them up there for another day or two.

Viharnik. Thanks for the info. I hope that by the end of the VII. month snow will stop falling and the path to Triglav will become a real summer one. Because as I read now on the Forum, it's better to stay home.
Thanks again for the information. Greetings and good luck in the mountains. misi1wink

I agree that such a crazy feat by individuals should be double charged, because those two specials put not only themselves but also those people who risked their lives in danger because they didn't heed the advice of people who told them what and how the weather would be. Then they boast how good the food is. Waste of words...jezen

Extremely irresponsible and sick, they were lucky it didn't end sadly. Such and similar actions should be charged for and there would be fewer accidents.

I agree it's a bad decision but where's the logic that there would be fewer accidents if such things were charged heavily? Quite the opposite, there would be even more because people would stubbornly push on hoping they won't have to pay that much money.

I apologize for even writing this on the forum! Just to tell. What I wrote, I'm not boasting at all because I don't know why I would boast about it!! BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING TO BOAST ABOUT!! I realize what I did and what could have happened and believe me it was a lesson for me!!! And I would be ready to pay too!!! But you don't need to freak out on the forum and act smart!!!! Because I mentioned it since it's a forum for mountain events and it could be a warning for someone!mrk pogled

Listen, nobody is acting smart, but to everyone your action seems extremely irresponsible, because all week they announced that the weather would worsen on Friday evening, but you two still insisted on staying at Kredarica. I hope this was a lesson for your whole life.
