Overnighted at Ivinih vodičah, as bivouac at Vlaški grad currently unusable.mrk pogled
Today in total wetness descent past Ramičev to Paklenica and home.
Paths solidly marked, times on boards quite tight (read hard to achieve).

We started the two-day tour in Paklenica.
First past Manita peć and Vidakov kuk to Golić summit. Descent to saddle, followed long traverse and then ascent over Buljma, and sleep at Struge.
Yesterday first to Vaganski vrh and then Lipa staza past Ramičev to valley.
To sum up what stuck most in memory.velik nasmeh Golić ridge is looong eek, bivouac at Struge without mattresses jezen, best water at Marasovac mežikanje, Lipa staza pure torment mrk pogled... but Velebit never disappoints.nasmeh

Weekend on Velebit damn hot and humid, resulted in afternoon thunder. Path from Tribanj Kruščica to Ljubotić still filled with peace and fresh green spring landscape.
Obli kuk could wait for autumn temps, but enjoyable despite sweating.

Maybe you know how much snow there is on the highest Velebit peaks?

At the measuring station at Zavižan (1594 m a.s.l.) there is now 70 cm.
On Saturday it was a very warm day, no snow on the southern side and Sv. Brdo was without. The Lika side is still quite snowy. Overnight to Sunday above 1300 m a.s.l. some snow fell. Probably more tonight. I'm not much help to you nasmeh I live 450 km from Velebit...

We started the two-day trip in Southern Velebit in Ljubotić. First to "Miril" and through the abandoned village Zagon to Tatek's hut at Stap. Followed by ascent to Debeli Kuk, and over Čučul and Čučavac to the hut for well-deserved... sleep. mežikanje
Second day past Stapina to Kamen Gallery, which really deserves its name.nasmeh The viewing takes about one hour and can be quite adrenaline-filled. Even more adrenaline-filled is the descent on the "marked" path to the valley, since there are mostly no marks at all. jezen The path is completely abandoned, hard to pass and very demanding orientationally. Don't know how it would be here in fog...mrk pogled
Anyway, Velebit never disappoints and didn't this year either. nasmeh

On Sunday we circled Stap and Kamen Gallery, the most adventurous was the return on the dusty path through Vratanco. A bit more here.

For two days I'm heading to Velebit, around Baške Oštarije, a bit in Southern and a bit in Central Velebit.
First day I turn towards the village Rizvanuša and continue on the gravel road to Jelova Ruje, after approx. 7 km there's a left turn to Visočica, where I went later, continue another approx. 8 km to Jelova Ruje, park one bend before, as logging is taking place near the abandoned house. I go back a bit to the junction of the road to Panos (abandoned military post) and on the road to the right turn to Šugarsko Dulibo. I follow the marked path hoping that there will be a right turn to Veliki Stolac somewhere, there is no sign to the summit from this direction. When the path starts to descend, I turn right off-path to the ridge and reach the summit, where there is a stamp, no logbook. From the summit there is a beautiful view in all directions. I descend along the ridge towards the marked path and join it just before it turns into the forest, thus shortening the path compared to the ascent. I continue towards Panos and look at the ruins of that military post, then further towards Stap or to the turnoff for Debeli Kuk. I descend towards Jelova Ruje and thus complete a quite long loop trail.
Then I drive to the turnoff for Visočica and further on the gravel road to the starting point, best to start the ascent at the Visočica 2 h sign, because the road ahead is in worse condition. First ascent through the forest to the hut and then further on the grassy slope to the summit, which rewards you with views in all directions.
Second day I chose Veliki Sadikovac as my last summit before heading home, the starting point is at the bend on the main road at the beginning of Baške Oštarije, where there is a direction sign to the summit. The path is nicely marked and normally passable to the panoramic summit.
Velebit, farewell, until next time ...
