Today I went from Ljubelj via Preval pasture to Roblek. Path to pasture dry, further across Roža there is south-facing snow, but it doesn't sink excessively.

Yesterday was a really nice day for a long walk to Roblek. From hut towards summit no fresh tracks visible. Remembered that ditty "to Roblek I'll go I'll...

Can someone tell me how much snow is left to the hut at Roblek?

Snow starts from 1300 meters onwards and more and more, at Roblek still about 2 meters.!

Today from Draga: icy (for now not too much), crampons recommended in places or at least good winter boots. At hut winter cold and gusty wind. Snow on path already in Draga (ice). Plenty of visitors. No danger regarding avalanches. Further to summit, also over Roža to Pravali not trodden (dangerous). Most hikers had "snow chains" on feet.. Hut at Poljska planina closed. LP heinz!

Tomorrow, 13.3. I plan to visit "Roblek" from Draga. Wondering if dangerous due to avalanches, if trodden, hut open and if can extend tour somewhere, as very nice day. (circular via Roža, Prevala to Draga) or even to summit? thanks

Avalanche risk always exists, whether the hut is open I don't know, but check PZS, I wouldn't go to Veliki vrh Begunjščica in your place, because that side in such conditions can cost you dearly. I.e., extremely unstable slope, grassy base, steep... hut, info... http://www.pdradovljica.si/?tip=drustvo&pod=koce&id=67#k Regards, and be careful...

aleš In Draga right by the hut there's an info board. There you see if the hut is open or closed. Usually on nice weekends it's open and supplied. Second board at Poljska planina. I advise against crossing Begunjščica slopes because very exposed whole way. Avalanche risk too big, base smooth grassy. But option of ascent via Krpin ski slope (arranged parking) to Poljska planina which extends route by ca. 1-1.5 hrs. Return from hut in Draga along right slopes, above Kamen castle, back to Krpin and walk extra 1-1.5 hrs. All paths marked. LP.

For me very nice trip and weather excellent. Many satisfied visitors, especially at Roblek, in hut. Path trodden, morning icy, afternoon southern so small crampons or chains recommended (essential) for descent. From Draga (inn) took 2:15 to Roblek, descent in under an hour (+crampons).

Though today worse weather forecast, tour from inn in Draga to Roblek hut quite pleasant. Snow starts bit below summit, but no major issues walking. Temps just right for hiking, only fog on top hides nice view.

Hello! On Saturday we'd like to stretch our legs a bit and I'm wondering if anyone has been up there these days? Is there any snow on the summit part to the top of Begunjščica? Start Ljubelj.... Zelenica. Thanks and best regards.

Southern side is dry, northern approach from Zelenica is "rotten". Temperatures too high to freeze. Overall better from Draga to Roblek then to summit. Regards

On Saturday I was at Roblek. Along the whole path wet snow was falling from branches, so I was very wet. But when I reached 2/3 of the path from Poljska planina to Roblek it all stopped. Winter idyll began.. soft snow and easy walking. At Roblek about 30 cm of snow. Attaching a couple of nice shots

if you look closely, you can see a bushy tail on the right. Common polecat.
