Connection between Štore and Šentjur in a hiking evening/night mini-adventure... settlements with rich tradition of heavy industry and town of Ipavec brothers... First association of course Resevna. Eco approach by train from Poljčane to Štore, yes there was already a topic but the whiteness of fresh snow after 6 pm was writing new expectations higher in the world between Štores and Šentjur... I'd say finally after a more "autumnal" December/January winter. Start at Štore railway station, old and multiple times checked starting point in recent months... first real point where near Voglajna the nearby world of Savinja, Sava opens... but today exclusively above Voglajna and its torrential tributaries.
Along Voglajna to the east, somewhere above the water in pleasant shelter of forest, meadow/pasture paths and road to the narrower settlement Prožinska vas. Walked here twice but at night time today first time and they say night has its power... orientation nevertheless undemanding but some attention during pleasant chat was needed and after two, three continuations of path to the left, where finally along the descending cart track to the torrent stream - Curgelj path. Along it continuation, some interesting more or less natural orientation points in partial help and settlement Kranjčica we soon reached. There was snow, no problems, temperature below freezing – around minus ten it was gripping and it was necessary to "cut the path anew", no track, wind for sample "some here and there" light northern and eastern directions, ground soft, natural balm for ankles, knees and other bones, muscles, ligaments... step worked mainly reliably. Contact with the road to Resevna from Šentjur at Špelajek along which we continued towards more south/west parts of Kranjčica settlement. During the way we decided for western approach to Resevna from direction Resje above Štores, Svetina... i.e. Celje hills, to extend the activity in the cold winter evening anyway all the way to Vodruž settlement and step to the top from Plevnik and somehow encircle Resevna in continuation.
Enough of the western line in Vodruž and from Plevnik ascent to Resevna. Steep approach, but trodden by recreation seekers in the afternoon, we met no one else. This world is quite rich in blueberries, of course in more suitable season, today it was with snow. Light good, natural, additional not needed and first encounter with the lookout tower... modern it is, colleague climbed it, meanwhile I did the entry in the hiking logbook myself and hurried after him to the top, yes, that we were here. At the mountain hut, which is practically directly under the tower descent and direction was of course known - Šentjur and time also 21:34 – train departure. Descent in forest, access road, some asphalt and in the last part along homesteads, houses along fading lights in warm homes especially Šibenik, I assume along the path... Šentjur, because we descended really quickly there was just time for a jump. A bit higher to the old/historical part of Šentjur to the house of Ipavec brothers, church of St. Jurij... and then of course by train to Poljčane home.
Pleasant, snowy, partly icy too, cold was gripping, also had to break trail on some specific sections of path especially along Curgelj stream. Not too many kilometers, just under 15. Connection Štore and Šentjur via Resevna... Yes really nice in the pre, pre-last January evening of 2014, twenty-ninth of January it was.
