Yesterday I walked this section. It looks like they are renovating it right now. The cables are mostly all renewed, traces of work still visible - dust in the drill holes where they fixed the holds. A couple of holds and one cable are still waiting for installation. The markers stayed overnight in Pogačnikov dom on Saturday and apparently said that's it for now. Anyway, excellent work done. The markings have not yet been renewed and are really faded, so in some parts you need to look around a lot and search for traces of the path. Cairns help a lot. At one point I even used the top maPZS app (but first download the route as the mobile signal is very weak). This is not advice to go yet, just a description of current conditions! Work obviously not finished, though all hard parts secured.

After talk with hut warden today, winter gear probably not needed anymore. Snow patch can be bypassed. Sunday going from Zadnjica to Razor, will know more then. Lp

What about a circular route from Krnica over Kriška stena, Kriške pode, Razor, Prisank, Vršič – is winter gear needed anywhere else?

I was on Sunday, 10.7.2023, on Razor from the direction of Kriški podi. There were still some snowfields, but they could be crossed normally without winter gear Lp

Hi! Has anyone gone to Razor from Vršič these days? Is the path completely dry? No more closure warning on PZS, so I assume they managed to fix it last year. Am I right?

A week ago there was still a snowfield under Razor (towards Prisank), but current daily rain is quickly reducing it.

Well, now I have first-hand info . The path from Vršič is dry (a tiny flat snowfield in the first half of the path is not worth mentioning), the fixed gear has been renewed and all in good condition. Markings are mostly renewed, here and there you need to look a bit closer. I liked the path, it is varied and wild in a good way in the rocky world. From Sedlo Planja to Razor all bp. Scree for export.

From Razor the hut is not visible, from Razor summit yes.
From Razor you look at Triglav and below under Razor, on the Kriški podi, Pogačnikov dom greets you and on the right side the upper station of the cargo cableway.

From the summit of Razor Pogačnik is not visible, as Vrh Žlebičev obscures it.
