Today up the secured path, descent via Durce.
Snow crossing only at one spot...easy.

First from Vodol towards Bela peč, after ten minutes left searching for path to Greben summit 1549m. From start invisible path, higher up shows better, and leads to solitary, overgrown summit. A bit below summit nice spot with view across Bistro. From summit steep descent westwards to wonderful grassy saddle below Greben, from there along fence, on path, over Šavje, to Kup. From Kup 1808m then in cold wind over Lanež and Mala Raduha to Velika. Freshness was welcome, air good for breathing.
Descent to Loka, and over Javorje to Vodol. Nice day for the mountains. Take care!

BUKOVNIK - RADUHA - LOKA.
Also at Bukovnik, there's rich restocking of supplies. I just put on dry socks, shoes stay the same even though soaked. "On Raduha everything will be soaked and smooth rocks, also the path to Loka will be muddy." I warn friends. Also the car accompanying us will be absent six hours. To the hut at Grohat, rain leaves us alone. We turn into the hut for breakfast, which takes us half an hour. Through Durce light rain accompanies us, surprisingly on Raduha we're not the only hikers. Wind, fog, rain are our companions. At the top everyone turns immediately, except Marko (stamps logbooks for friends). Descent to Loka we did very carefully, despite that there were some dirty butts. At Loka I greet the warden, we drink one drink each......

Road from Koroška to Bukovnik is OK.
Up via climbing path and down via Durce. In my opinion the climbing path to Raduha is super route for someone tackling very demanding marked paths for first time. Excellent food at Grohot hut.

Hello,
doing SPP, about halfway and this week plan to visit Raduha.
Plan to do circular route Bukovnik-Grohat-Raduha (via climbing)-Loka-Durce-Grohat-Bukovnik.
In this thread lots published about all paths but no description of this circular route. (Or I only found it takes ca. 8h and best start from Loka.)
So how do you recommend tackling this path, from which direction? Is 8h timing right?
Also for climbing path several comments, some say it's not climbing, some very demanding. Better avoid it?
Sorry in advance if already described somewhere, sadly didn't find. Thanks in advance for reply(ies).

tomaz...just do that nice tour as planned; from Bukovnik and via climbing which is not hard to top of Raduha, descend to hut at Loka (they have good struklje) and climb to Durce and via hut at Grohart back to Bukovnik. Nice tour that will surely take you 8 hours. Good luck on the way!!

tomaz117 I walked this path last year so I suggest start from Loka then go while still cool to Grohat then via climbing to top-Vračas then over
planina Arta to exit at parking-If you go as you write at end from Loka to Durce would be very hot and strenuous. Time 6-7h good walking. Greetings.

So that you don't have part of the same path from the hut on Loka, you have the option to go from the hut towards Lanež and from there over Mala Raduha to Durc, otherwise Lanež is not in SPP.
The path really lengthens for you, if nice weather, early hour and youth, it works too.

You can extend to the Hut on Travnik from Loka but then return the same way. You get 4 stamps though. That's how I went. 9 hours. But I really liked the path from Loka to Travnik.

If doing SPP, just go simply over Smrekovec along it, Loka, Raduha, Grohat.....

Planned circular path Bukovnik-Grohat-Raduha (via climbing)-Loka-Durce-Grohat-Bukovnik is totally OK, but on the side remains part of the SPP from Grohat to Rogovilec, i.e. Savinja.
If that is also planned for SPP, better is the circular path Rogovilec-Tolstovršnik-Grohat-Durce-Raduha-Loka-Arta-Rogovilec, or reverse...

First, thanks for all replies.
This last suggestion is quite sensible, so maybe I'll decide for that tour.
One earlier comment was also to visit the hut at Travnik, but that would significantly lengthen the path. If I knew that end of Slovenia better, planning would of course be easier.
Start/finish must be from the same location because I'm going alone. Also, I consider my fitness, where a tour of 6-8 hours is still ok, the rest is already the limit and I wouldn't overdo it.
I'll leave impressions from the path, if maybe useful for someone.

Hello. Has anyone recently driven by car to the parking lot below the Koča na Loki hut? What's the condition of the road after the recent storms?
