Yesterday afternoon a quick hike from Dvor to Polhograjska Grmada. Descent towards Belica. Beautiful day for photography. The path is passable without natural obstacles mežikanje

In July we usually don't go to Grmada,
as the heat melts our chocolate.
But today we did differently,
instead we took a piece of pogača. nasmeh

Wildflowers and butterflies kept us company,
as others had to go to work.
Among them is friend Ana,
to whom this path is well known. nasmeh

Yesterday I quickly (quite late, at 4 pm) decided on a quick trip to Grmada. Still nice (as always). Parked as almost always, at the sharper bend 200-300 m below Mehačka. Up top nice, a bit windy. Lp mežikanje

Today fog ruled in the valley,
up top we enjoyed the sky's blue.
Autumn slowly shows its beautiful face,
tree colors and greenery [are] the biggest proof.
Colorful flowers made my day nice,
like meeting people whose hands I shook. nasmeh

In the valley we are not really happy about the fog

The color of the trees is slowly changing

They didn't make a mistake in naming it - sunshine

With the first frost it will all pour down

Yesterday I participated in the traditional night hike on the first full moon 2015 to Polhograjska Grmada.
Since there were more of us in the group, with a combination of cars at the junction for Osredek-Katarina and Pograjski dom we made a circular tour over Polh. Grmada. We had a fast pace and suddenly arrived at guesthouse Dobnikar at saddle Topola. There everything noisy, like in the middle of the day. We drink and go on in the light of lamps towards the top of P. Grmada. At the saddle before Grmada more hikers from Mačkov graben and Gont joined us in even greater numbers. At the top there were quite a few of us, but fewer than in previous years, when you could hardly squeeze to the top. From the ridge path from Polhovo Gradec the most came up by feel. There one part of the narrow ridge was secured with a safety rope, the GRS team also came up. At the top in constant gusts of NW wind, typical only for high mountains, we headed down towards the Mehaček farm. There was the most numerous and liveliest point of hikers on the whole tour. It was interesting to see so many tireless Slovenian hikers with great interest in hiking and sports. Probably we lead in the scale of the whole Europe by number of inhabitants/mountaineers. The area around Mehaček was magically illuminated by fires, which additionally reflected warmth in the already so numerous and lively company. After a drink we briefly descend to Pograjski dom and before midnight I return home.
It was a beautiful experience with ascent in the common spirit of like-minded people nasmeh

First stop at G. Dobnikar in Topol at 20h.

On the saddle below Polh. Grmada at 20:54.

Excellent hiker Helena (left in blue) was the organizer of our group.

It blew in constant gusts and cooled (sip of borovca to the left).

Nice hiking experience, just a bit too much vol.% alcohol (some were picked from the ditches)

When there's no time or weather for something higher, Polhograjska Grmada is always a grateful goal. Especially since on certain parts of the path it feels really high-alpine nasmeh

. I park at the beginning of Dvor village and head up an unmarked, steep in places trail. A bit before the hunting lodge the trail joins the marked path from Dvor, which I follow over steep steps to the top. So it's not boring, at the top I head to very steep switchbacks towards Belica, lower at the junction I go towards Polhov Gradec and reach the hunting lodge. I return along the marked path, from which somewhere in the last third a very steep path (partly marked?) branches left, which brings me exactly to the starting point. Since I don't hike PG in boots but in trail sneakers, no toe bashing issues, otherwise those paths are really steep ones. Conditions in Polhograjcih, except pesky flies, excellent nasmeh

All the time I can observe the path on which I will return

Even at the summit there are scrambles :-)

When we went up recently, a friendly gentleman warned us to watch out at the top because of the kids with us, since two adders "live" there. We really saw them at the top under the rock that Enka posted on the last photo. Just for info, thanks to the mentioned gentleman for the warning...
