Parking Ravenska Kočna and fine

I accidentally saw on FB that some vehicles continued driving to the lower cable car at Zg. Jezersko. Whoever doesn't know yet, there's a large parking lot and you park there, further driving is prohibited (sign). The writer also wrote that they got a fine of 80 euros. I hope no one gets fined unnecessarily.

Ok. If there's a prohibition sign, I support that higher around cable cars they want to make order and issue fines. But the fine the poor guy got meter behind the sign in direction of cable cars is a bit "below the belt". Photo from Saturday 09.07.2016. Parking was full. I don't know... More papal than the pope we could say

Yesterday couldn't see them towing anything, but around the lower cable car everything was parked full. What kind of hikers are these that 10 min extra walking is such a problem?

@Daaam, that's really low... somehow in the style of our bureaucracy.

I'm sure they'll soon collect enough fines to be able to install a barrier.

Trailheads are becoming places to fleece tourists. Often they are unregulated, break-ins happen etc. Abroad of course they know how to handle these things so that satisfaction is mutual.

God help us, this eternal little Slovenian complex in front of almighty foreigners. Pfft!

If there's a sign, it's a sign. And the sign is justified for uninterrupted cable car operation. On Sunday I actually saw one guy who aggressively drove past and further past the sign, like I'm smart, you're all dumb parking here! Regardless that he gained barely 10 minutes. The one who parked a meter behind the sign and got fined is really piggy. Just the little warden - little Slovenian - little fool. Got him, at home wife will nag again and boss at work but tomorrow I'll ease my soul a bit with a few such fines! The point of fines abroad is to achieve something, not nagging. So the little Slovenian's complex is justified here, he just doesn't realize it and thinks he's the super smart one. In reality, he unconsciously treats his smallness complex with such things!

Slovenians should have followed some order long ago, that's completely self-evident in Western Europe. Because of that, our economic tycoons have already stolen almost everything, only a few companies left like Lek, Luka Koper, Petrol... then of course they won't be able to take anything more. Rules are there to be followed, as they are set by experts so that the system works transparently and healthily.

Yes, true @POLJANC. Otherwise @viharnik gave exactly the right field for comparison. Worker who steals a couple hundred EUR will sit in prison a few years, tycoon who steals millions just as much (if at all).

For information and grab your butts In the Ravenska Kočna valley from August 16 they are introducing paid parking. The daily parking fee will be ten euros. On weekends the valley will also be accessible by public transport. Jezersko – The Jezersko Municipality has installed a barrier near the Pod Turni hunting lodge in the Ravenska Kočna valley to calm traffic, past which you can drive upon paying the parking fee or with a permit to which Jezersko municipality citizens are entitled. Permits will be issued free of charge by the municipality based on a written application available on www.jezersko.si under Contact with the municipality and then Applications and forms. There are also exceptions specified in the Ordinance on the regulation of stationary traffic in the Jezersko municipality, which you can read when submitting the application, as it contains some additional explanations, for example, that one permit per entitled person can be issued, tied to one vehicle. The daily parking price is ten euros. In the Ravenska Kočna valley, a maximum of 100 motor vehicles at the same time. Free parking still possible at the Pod Turni parking lot – of course until full. On Saturdays and Sundays public transport to the Ravenska Kočna valley. The ticket price is two euros, children up to 4 years old and accompanied by an adult entitled to free transport. Tickets can be bought from the driver. Transport both ways between Planšarsko jezero, Pod Turni parking and Ravenska Kočna parking, from 7 to 12 and 14 to 17. https://www.gorenjskiglas.si/article/20220814/C/220819888/1017/od-torka-placilo-parkirnine

Oderusko. I think 10 euros is definitely too much. I don't mind paying, e.g. 3-5 euros much more reasonable. You can see it's just fleecing people. The rich will afford more again. You can't justify such high parking fees with road maintenance. Is the parking even asphalted now or do you need another 10 for washing when you get home?

Maybe it's about time the state steps in... Passes a law that whoever charges like that is responsible for the parked vehicles there. We'll see how many parking lots will still be paid...

At that parking lot, years ago they stole both my side mirrors and all four decorative hubcaps from the Skoda.

Trobec, that "law" would then have to apply to city parking lots too.

Yes Bojan, now first I check when I get to the car if the mirrors are still in place. Not exactly pleasant driving 100 km home without side mirrors.

For consideration. Recently I did two hikes above Sappada, as usual the starting parking lots were free. And these weren't just any, both had benches and tables and panorama signs telling more about the visible mountains, and of course signposts showing the way up. If I did two hikes here, one starting at Blato and one at Jezersko, I'd "waste" 25€ just on parking. If I ate something after the hike like I did in Sappada 2x, I could already sing Denarčke štejem od Buldožerja In Sappada after the first hike I spent 18€ on pizza, non-alcoholic beer and macchiato (three more than parking at Blato), after the second which meant a lot to me, I treated myself to something fancier, salmon in pistachio sauce and polenta, two non-alcoholics and macchiato, totaling 28€. I'm sure they had more from me there (in Sappada) than if they charged expensive parking, I'd eat and drink at home, say. Restaurateurs happy, municipality or commune too, they got a cent or two from tax. Most importantly, I've never had the feeling there of "being ripped off", not even on grumpy locals in the last fifteen years or so. But in the upper Sava valley and Bohinj areas, yes, mostly because someone "had a bad day" and not because I did something wrong.
