On the Paths of Vinska Gora

First time hiking in this area and of all circular trails I've done this one is somehow ,,most alive,,. Lots of active - runners, hikers, mountaineers, walkers... on the whole trail, trodden paths and at every checkpoint tons of entries who practically regularly visit individual points or combine several. You can see that ,,Velenje,, - mining town with surroundings also known sports town and so Hats off..... Video:Hats off Due to abundance of interesting things along the path that killed the rhythm we had a lighter step. Almost sure to return in future at higher ,,heart rates,, without entries, stamps, photos... GPS:On the paths of Vinska gora, 18.03.2012 Best, bruny

Excellent description of "Po poteh Vinske gore" is on the website of the society maintaining the trail and before setting off it was certainly helpful... PD Vinska gora

Today very early in the morning my elementary school classmate and I set off for a hike on the Vinskogorska mountain trail. The start was in Lipje, then we first climbed to Gonžarjeva peč (594 m), then to Radojč (937 m), we continued the trail towards Ramšakov vrh (970 m), the highest point of the Vinskogorska mountain trail. After a snack we continued the trail in the direction of Temnjak (793 m) and Vinska gora (806 m), then we descended to the hut of the hunting sports society Vinska Gora (650 m) and continued the trail to gostilna Hren, which was the end of the hike. With stops we walked a total of 6 hours and 45 minutes, without stops a good 6 hours.

@Bruny, I fixed the title, thanks for the congrats and note Sometime in winter the second stage of the path follows, most likely then we will walk the entire path. Unfortunately yesterday time didn't allow us to walk the whole path.

The circular path is relatively short but ,,high,, in elevation meters. There are also some flat sections, which are then ,,doubly,, compensated by steepness. Dynamic and really excellently laid out on interesting paths. Many points of interest along the path for thorough viewing and as I wrote above very visited. You can see it's near a larger town and doesn't live like many similar paths only during harvest time, St. Martin's and similar holidays. Excellently accessible and also interesting to visit in parts. Somewhat poorly marked, if memory serves.. the section between Ramšakov vrh and the hunting hut but in next time it will be better. Lp

The path is partly on forest trails, partly on local road. To walk it takes 8 to 9 hours. A bit confusing to find the very start, because Gostilna Obirc, closed pizzeria Bevc is further towards Velenje not on the left side of the road, soon after Avtokontrola Pirešica and MEnergy. As described on the brochure they gave me at Savinjsko Planinsko društvo. Next points are Lipnik accessible by road, past Povše. Next through forest, then across regional road and steeply uphill is NOB monument Razgorce, The valley then in the shade, Partisan bunker directs us wrong, because downhill direction from the road we wouldn't get the stamp. Following the marks in order on the road we descend into the forest to Gorjak, along the protected area of farm Lamperčak we cross forest and some roads where Vovkov mlin is found. We climb to the first peak on the slope - Vinsko Goro - give up as soon as possible if you don't find it. Then I descended to Tamar and very special crossing of pasture with cows and electric fence. To Lovska koča. From here the path to a slightly higher peak 970m, Ramšakov vrh. And through forest, slippery pass to equally high pasture Radojč. For climbers there is arranged climbing path Gonžarjeva peč. And just the last juicy part of the footpath to hayrack Kranc. The path can be walked early morning on cloudy day or spring and autumn. In company.

Yesterday I walked this wonderful path! On the path lots of dry leaves, in places very muddy, little wind and with individual raindrops, so it wasn't too hot What enthused us most was Dolina mlinov, where we also fixed the overturned signpost. Path solidly marked and maintained - except on descent from "Dolina 507m" towards main road Arja vas - Velenje there is lots of fallen trees. That wooden footbridge is rather impassable (piled broken branches), but we still managed to cross. Caution is not superfluous...Greetings to all and happy trails!

Isn't this path still closed? Along the main road Arja vas - Velenje you can notice a warning sign with closure. Otherwise congrats for the hike.

Yes, at that little bridge (last photo) there is a notice that the path is closed. But we didn't know that before, because we started in the direction Obirc-Kranc-Gonžarjeva peč... and saw it only at the end...

And what about that bridge? Can you get across - like on the last picture and does anything creak? What's the water like - possible to cross the stream??

Hi Janez! We really enjoyed, such nice landscapes we have... Oh.. yes, can cross the bridge, but really very carefully. It's in bad shape, and branches piled on it, so it hangs down... Water was quite a lot, so we went over the little bridge instead.

Radojč is not part of ŠPP, I've also tracked this marker in Dolina mlinov, which belongs to dobrnski "circuit", maybe related to it?
