Today we went to Mirna gora with the family. We started the ascent in the village Planina, from where we continued along the forest educational trail through the village, then in a moderate ascent past numerous stations towards the summit. The path runs through mostly deciduous forest, is easy with occasional slightly steeper ascents. Every few meters on different trees there is the name of the tree, hunting observation posts, feeding places,... so no boredom for kids or parents. Below the summit stands Dom na Mirni gori, next to it also the church of St. Francis Xavier with a viewing tower, which was until a few decades ago still a bell tower. The very summit of Mirna gora is 10 minutes of easy walk away, from where there is no view, as the summit itself is overgrown with mature beeches. Very nice autumn trip. LP Andrej

Today from Mirna gora there was no view, but we experienced the miraculous play of sunbeams in the forest. The trail along the interesting educational path from Planina is muddy and slippery, so we returned along the road. The educational path is ideal for motivating and educating children, with interestingly presented info on forest life and also displayed objects: fruit dryer, charcoal pile, hayrack with farming tools...

Yesterday, 28.12. I went from Črnomelj first towards Mirna gora, at the monument to commander Stane I continued straight towards Žaga-Rog and went to the Črmošnjiska spruce, which is really worth seeing. Path through sunny, expansive forests, constantly along a well-marked forest road. From Črnomelj to the spruce one way about 5 hours. On the way back, behind Leseni kamen and before the turnoff to Golobinjek, an adult bear, I estimate 120 to 150 kg heavy, unexpectedly crossed my path. I assume he heard and smelled me more than saw me, as I immediately stood still motionless when I heard the rustling of leaves (still behind the slope). He retreated slowly, diagonally across the hollow, so I could observe him well. No time for fear. This is my first encounter with a bear in the natural environment, a month ago I already came across bear droppings, but in the Veliki Rog area. I don't know what disturbed him, as it's mid-winter. Maybe the noise - logging around Črmošnjiska spruce still going on, or high temperatures. The day was wonderful and unforgettable, an old strong wish fulfilled.

On Saturday 27.12. at five in the morning I left Črnomelj towards Mirna gora. At the signs where the forest railway was (Bremsberg) I turned sharply right from the road onto the track and arrived at Planina at sunrise. Along the road I continued towards Mirna gora. Just before the last ascent, instead of right to Mirna gora, I continued straight towards Ponikve. The day before 5 cm of snow fell, so the night's tracks on the path were like a beautiful diary. The quiet morning suddenly became full of mysterious life. I circled Ponikve and returned to Črnomelj via Luža. Total 9 hours walking. The forest, especially primeval forest, is a beautiful, living and threatened organism. Let's take care of it!

Mama bear first takes little bear out of the dark den, finally after long winter. Little one toddles after her, amazed by all the light, green foliage, hasn't seen snow yet. Walks behind mom for a while, then asks her: 'Mama, am I really a bear?' 'Of course, look at the tracks in the snow, you have paws like mine, just a bit smaller.' They continue the ramble, after a while he tugs her again: 'Mama, am I surely a bear?' 'Yes of course, you growl like a bear,' mom replies. They walk on, but the cub insists and asks again: 'Mama, am I really truly a bear?' She, surprised: 'Yes, why do you ask so much?' Cub back: Yeah, when I'm freezing like a dog! Good luck, little bear!

Yeah @77blaz won't know what to do either when the bear posts up there that he's lost his phone. And asks an honest finder to return it to him. That would be fun to see how he'll give it back to him.
