This is the red-eared slider and it's not the Slovenian native turtle, but was brought in and successfully established itself in this environment. As an invasive species it displaces our native little turtle - the pond terrapin, which apparently can be found also on the Ljubljana Marshes; and since you tease me so much with these pictures, I'll go "hunt" for ours soon . Has anyone seen it on the Marshes?
