No need to go through the dwarf pines, for the more experienced straight up.
@Miri - no saw needed, it's pathless.

14.07.2025. From below Zjabce to Lanževica. The plan was to turn before Oslova škrbina onto the old border path. Which has waited several years for us to hike it. This year we saw it in snow when we reached Oslova škrbina. Left the fox tail at home. Not even needed for that short part through dwarf pines. Otherwise missed a bit there by navigation. Should have gone more to the right. But decided to go along the ridge where we found best passages. Where dwarf pines end someone put a cairn. Then past some old markers of former Rapallo border to the top. We were the only hikers. Descent over known terrain below Velika Baba and Kaluder. Where two years ago we checked the hiked ridge from Baba to Kaluder. Then we really would need a saw when fighting through dwarf pines. Don't recommend descent from Lanževica this side without navigation. Somewhere there were cairns then no more. Last part to hunter's hut path not visible at all. Plenty of flowers now. Tour is quite fitness demanding and long. But extremely beautiful. nasmeh

Very interesting and varied tour! We also once wandered under Oslova škrbina – without good orientation it's quickly chaos there. 😅 We always check the weather forecast before such tours: https://radarska-slika-padavin.si/ – so no summer storm surprises us. Great description and wonderful photos!
