MAREA! I'm thinking and pondering whether to voice my opinion or not. So far only male members have given you advice, I believe men often have a harder time understanding us women than we think, I understand you, since we're similar in quite a few things, losing weight, getting rid of extra cca 20 KG, trying to maintain that weight with various activities and at mature age 45, discovering the magic of mountains. What was my start like, first easy paths (Peca, Stol, Begunjščica, ...) in between the third tour to Storžič via Kališče, the easiest path, where in the rocks around 1800 I panicked, panic attack, morale at bottom ..., I returned escorted by some female hiker back home, husband continued to the top, imagine my ego, how I felt ... horror ... But since I'm stubborn by nature to a point and persistent - that's for real, after a good month we went to Storžič second time, this time via Škarje, husband didn't tell me until the top that of course the path via Kališče is much easier, this year a month ago, again ascent to Storžič via climbing path, through Žrelo, but husband says he wants to see how I'll manage also via Kališče. What I actually want to say, start with easier paths, then gradually increase, that's what we do, although it wouldn't be a problem for husband, of course without me, to skip to something harder, last we climbed over Konj, I wish for Kopinškova too. Knees hurt us terribly last year too, so we bought knee supports, this year less often or almost not, since we strengthened the hamstrings that have to brake the most downhill, last year we added an hour to tour times, this year often under that time, we know how to hurry, how to rest and enjoy properly. This year we started walking a bit off-path, very interesting, no doubt ... I wish you success in achieving your goals, of course your husband stands by you, same for me, watch yourself and even when it's tight he relies a bit on me, I know he's great support, first of all mentally, I think those who started mountaineering much younger than us didn't have or know such problems. With will and stubbornness, and of course sense, much is achieved. LP Jelči
