Afternoon from Ljubelj to the old border crossing and on to Povna peč, then back and along the ridge to Košutica. Returned via hunting trail.

Today via hunting path to Košutica. Like all these days, pleasantly warm with nice views. Returned along ridge to Koča na Ljubelju. Path dry.

(On the way to Korošica met a lady with doggie you discuss on »Zelenjak-Palec« page. Greeted me nicely and rushed down. Doggie after her. Often meet her on Dobrča path, always greet. Last year said she goes to Dobrča every day. Maybe behavior bit unusual but no need to philosophize about it online.)

Today to Košutica from road hut. First snow a bit ahead from wood. With height more of it, but despite starting hike at 13h snow was packed, sinking only couple cm. Most snow at Hajnževo sedlo. From there to top mostly bare. From top descended ridge towards Ljubelj. That part of path still fully under snow. Below turned left on hunting trail to valley. At these temps from winter gear only gaiters usable.

Košutica via hunting and back to Stari Ljubelj
Tuesday 11.4.2017 really nice almost dry morning. Only quiet lady with pup known from Palec and Zelenjak down as me up hunting. By old tracks lower "mountain" part where snow still sample less visited. Back towards Stari Ljubelj, ropes as usual, ladder stands, ridge always narrower, Austrian side still muddy, hut closed (supply?).

Matej hasn't been yet, so we went, to Košutica namely. Vranček, planina Korošica, Hanjževo sedlo, Košutica. Down via hunting. Weather not best, important no fog. That bit new snow didn't hinder walk. Met no one.

Up the hunting path towards Korošica but only to the meadow, then across the grass to the ridge. Then to Lokovnikov Grintavec, after the summit descend and continue on the north side to Košutica. Descent towards Korošica and back via the hunting path.

Lokovnikov Grintavec and a view of the northern side of Košutica, there are some peaks.

Our goal was Košutica, where Metod hasn't been yet. To spice things up, from Hanjževo sedlo we climbed the climbing route to Veliki vrh, only then to Košutica. To Veliki vrh we had to cross quite a few snowfields, so the ice axes were quite handy, and we also put on helmets. The weather could have been nicer, some wind and quite cold. From Košutica down the hunting path.

Today from Dovjakovo sedlo via Gerhard Orasch path to the summit. Descent via east path to Hajnževo sedlo past the hut at Korošica to the valley.
Nice, to me the nicest path to Baba. mežikanje

For the path to Lokovnikov Grintovec I recommend long pants.

In front Hajnžev Praprotnik, behind the Košuta ridge from the top of Lok.Grintovca.

We continue along the fence towards the Gerhard Orasch path

That's how it was today on Košutica. The path from Koča na Ljubelju to Grunt is quite slippery.

20.10. ...Vranček - Hajnževo sedlo...Path varied and interesting. Morning mists followed us to planina Korošica. At the saddle our Košutica ridge was sunlit. Views slightly foggy, but still nice. Descent on the other side. The path in the shady part wet and slippery, rocks too. Debris helps. Nice loop tour.. nasmeh

We parked at the toll booth hut, then to Planina Korošica and Hajnževo sedlo. At the summit we were alone, we only met the only hiker on the descent via the western ridge. Warm weather, due to haze not the best views. In the morning below the planina we met horses and donkeys, higher up cattle practically everywhere. Nice tour, but the ascent (for our age) is quite demanding.

Sunday hike of three ladies via the eastern path, a good hour and a half to Planina Korošica and another less than an hour and a half to Košutica. Over a thousand meters of ascent, nice weather, path well marked. We enjoyed the flower garden on the path and on the summit. Beautiful views from Snežnik, Bohinj Mountains, Jelovica, Dobrča, Begunjščica, towards Stol, Vrtača. On the Austrian side we saw Lokovnikov Grintovec, Setiče and Obir and of course the north side of Košuta. We heard there are lots of snakes, we saw one too...

Vranček, pl Korošica, Hajnževo sedlo, Košutica. Down the western, i.e. hunting path.
I was lucky as most peaks were in fog, only Košutica in the sun all the time.
I met rather few.
The plan was via the climbing path to Veliki vrh, but it was too foggy.

I arrived at the toll booth hut comfortably at room temperature.
To the planina it was foggy; at 1300m the first thin snow patches appear, of which there is not much to the planina. From the planina the snow depth quickly rises to about 20cm. Fog persists to 1800m.
