Koroška Rinka (Križ), Turska gora, Brana

JTrogar1. 08. 2009 18:22:48
Started at 5:20 below Rinka waterfall. Morning perfect for pleasant hike. At 7:50 on Koroška Rinka via Mrzli dol. All aids are ok. To the entry into the climbing section you have to cross snow twice. On Turska gora at 8:50. Then via Kotličevi to Brana at 10:10. Since the trail markers below Kamniško sedlo cleaned the path after heavy winter, we had to wait about half an hour, but the path was swept clean. Guys, thanks for your work on mountain paths. At 12:20 finished descent to car and cooling in clean cold Savinja. Nice greetings from below beautiful Mozirska planina, Janez.

Wow, you guys, really. Nice pics and enviable time. I'm wondering how the path Kotliči-Kamn.sedlo is? Is there still any snow down in the gully before the junction to Brana? Thanks for the info.nasmeh

What a disaster, you had to wait half an hour. Now go again to improve the time.
What kind of people are these who care most about how much time it takes up there. The essence is completely elsewhere.

Hats off for that tour, you walked pretty fast looking at the times, if I'm not mistaken?

koprofag, some go to the mountains to break records to feed their own ego, others go to enjoy... Everyone finds their place somewhere.

Come on, some of you are annoying with this. Those who go to break records obviously enjoy it too, let them have their way just like they let you have yours! When someone mocks you for going slowly, then it will be time for such remarks. Let's be a bit more adult.
Judging by the pictures, you obviously didn't run headlong through the mountains. Nice tour nasmeh

koprofag, why are you upset? I didn't get the feeling, when reading, that it bothered JTrogar that much.

It's ok that the guys race, they probably have fitness too, we also once did Triglav in 2:30 eek h but now easy nasmeh but we were crazy, important was to go to the mountains. One guy Tine wrote in a book Mountains are all higher and higher and steeper .....

You guys are big wimps. I think you barely venture out, and it's better for you and us if you stay in the valley forever. We don't need such people in the mountains.

I must admit that narim's impatience bothers me quite a bit!

I envy both a little, those who manage so fast and decisively up the hill, and those who take time and enjoy every stone separately.

Interesting comments on my trip report, which really don't bother me at all. At least one sees how differently we accept each other. I don't go to mountains to break records, but to enjoy wonderful nature. As my times are record-breaking for some, for others they are slow. As an example, I needed 5 hours to Grintovec in winter on skis, next day someone else the same tour only in 2 hours. Well, who is slow in this case. I stick to the rule to always adapt to the slowest, but when I can't keep the pace I let others know. I think that after a tour a person should be able to function normally in daily tasks, not need a day or two or three to recover. Specifically on this tour we were two with roughly the same fast step. Despite for some fast, for others slow walking, we took many breaks during the hike and enjoyed. I also spend quite some time on photography, as on each tour I make a hundred to two hundred, sometimes more shots. Since I have serious health problems, when forced to rest for some time, at home alone or with friends I relive past experiences in mountains via photos. But I think those who have been writing contributions longer sort of know each other and the time indications are just help for tour planning. I always use these contributions for planning tours and am very grateful to all for that, and they are free too. Nice greeting to all from under beautiful Mozirska planina, Janez.

I read somewhere that the aids through Turski žleb are loose, and need repairs. Tomorrow I'm going to Koroška Rinka through Turski žleb, and I'm interested if it's true. Thanks in advance for the answer.
Yes, and one more thing. A year ago, or even before,
PD Maribor issued a version of the guide on the Slovenian transversal, only for mountain huts (koče). I need information where this guide can be obtained. In Ljubljana (PZS, Matica)
they currently don't have it, nor in the huts.

Nice sunny weekend to you.

You need to look a bit elsewhere too!
Protections are loose on parts of the path for several years already. Even now when they replaced the steel cables, they are loose!
More worrying is the upper part (especially when descending into the gully) the slip risk is quite high!!!

In Konc (Kam.Bistrica) - over Žmavčarji - bivouac below Skuta - Turska Gora - Styrian and Carinthian Rinka
(conditions 6.12.2015)
This year at this time on sunny sides of our two-thousanders it's hard to speak of winter conditions and necessary winter gear, but still - for the ridge path to Turska Gora winter gear is recommended due to slip risk, especially since snow is still quite hard in the morning, on Carinthian Rinka by noon it was already so softened that it wasn't needed. Over Žmavčarji, above forest line, except some wind-packed sections, there is no snow on the path, but in initial steep part through forest some fallen trees obstructing walking.
So the drive to the starting point on quite »wrinkled road« will cause most trouble, traffic sign from Kam.Bistrica was turned around the whole previous week.
at the starting point - foggy morning in V Koncu1

the weather forecasts can be trusted, ... that's why we go to the mountains3
